Chicken meal, scabies and eyeballs… say what?

Ok, you may be thinking, what the heck are chicken meals, scabies and eye balls? lol No, we don’t have weird dinners and skin problems… These are all the names of common foods from a 3 year old and younger. Thinking about Halloween and all the eerie, creepy things found on this ghoulish night reminded me of these names.

When my now 3 year old daughter, Callie, was just learning how to talk, she would ask me every day if we were going to ‘Chicken Meal’ I had NO earthly idea what she was talking about. Then one day it dawned on me. She was asking if we were going to ‘Check the mail’! hehehehe (duh mommy!)

Now, can you guess what ‘Scabies & eyeballs’ are? Huh? Huh? Can ya?

Keep guessing… :D

Ok, I’ll tell you, it’s Spaghetti and Meatballs! funny
She also calls broccoli, trees, but I think that ones probably pretty common.

Hmmm, Those are the only ones I can think of right now but I know there are loads more!
What are some funny things your kiddies have come up with?

Sick babies… mommy’s going to lose it!

Hey there. Our six year old daughter, Cambryn started coughing a few days ago. She was all rattly and just generally ‘junky’ sounding. Then yesterday, she started running a 101.2 fever, scaring the be’jeebies out of me! Of course you know the first thing that runs through every parent’s mind these days, mmmm hmmm go ahead and say it… swine flu.

Her class took a trip to a pumpkin patch this past Thursday…. to a town that has known cases of swine flu. They were there with about a million other snot-filled little goobers, errr… angels running around!!! (because my kids are NOT snot-filled! They blow it all on ME, lol) :D So here I am with my 4 goobers, one of whom is coughing and running a fever. Then she starts complaining of a headache, sore throat and earache and all the other typical flu related symptoms, totally throwing me into mommy-panic mode for the night. We had to take the baby in for her 4 month check-up today so hubby decided to just keep a check on Cambryn through the night (her fever had lessened at this point) and then make her an appointment for today. She slept on the loveseat and hubby slept on the couch. Actually I don’t think he slept at all. He stayed up keeping a check on her all night. (good daddy!)

So we took the baby for her app. where she received 3 shots (I cried more than she did) and a liquid vaccine, then came home and hubby took  C. for hers. Turns out (thank God) that she just has a bad cold. At least that’s what doc has diagnosed her with. They gave her some meds for congestion and the usual for her fever, which I think has just about run it’s course.

It’s a crazy time in your life when you thank God for a cold!!!!
(of course I wish she wasn’t sick at all, but you know… just sayin’)

I do believe that before this cold and flu season is over……..
MOMMY’S GOING TO LOSE HER MIND!!!

How are you all coping?

I saw an invitation to Thursday Afternoon Tea Party hosted by Under the Golden Apple Tree (LOVE that name!)  posted on the Mom Bloggers Club message boards today and decided to attend. What girl doesn’t love a tea party?

My children, my hubby… they all keep me inspired and are the reason I’m getting back to blogging and will be focusing more on the things I love.

Crocheted Headbands – hairbows, clips and bands – part 3

In this 3rd and final part of our series – Hairbows, Clips and Bands (part 2), we are showcasing the headband styling’s of Fairy Tale Dreams Tutus. I chose two of the 2.5 inch crochet waffle headbands, in brown. They are So pretty! And they hold my daughters hair in place really well, without sliding out. Once again, I received the product in just a few short days, in plenty of time for my girls birthday. There’s not much to say this go around. Just that I received 2 beautiful headbands in record time. My camera batteries are giving me fits and just will NOT recharge, so I didn’t get to get an picture of it in their hair.  :0(

Tv Online!

While scouring the payperpost website today, I happened across TV Online . Hmmm, I’d like to watch TV online, but I never know where to look. I never know which network goes with which show and since we don’t have cable, I don’t get to see some of the older shows that I like. So I checked it out. OMG! It is an entire directory dedicated to finding TV shows. I couldn’t believe it! I decided to sign-up. It’s FREE, that was easy! I got my verification email in less than a minute, clicked the link and proceeded to hunt for my shows. They have links for classic movies, movies online, specific genres, tv shows, sports, news, etc. It is really a cool site. I think I’ll do some TV watching online tonight and let the kiddies watch their DVD’s on the big TV!!!
