Backyard Safari Outfitters

Summit Toy Company provided us with the greatest outdoor fun essentials. We received for review the Cargo Vest, Mega View Periscope and Bug Vacuum from the Backyard Safari Outfitters line to kick off summer. My kids have enjoyed running around with their field gear collecting and examining bugs and spying on each other with the ENORMOUS periscope! The periscope extends much larger than I imagined extending over 4 feet high. My son is around 5 feet tall and you can see in the photo below just how large the periscope actually is. Extend it to view over large mounds and rocks or to peer around a corner. Each section telescopes to put it at the level for your child’s height. I also like that you can turn it upside down and immerse a full 16 inches of it into water to view under water without ever getting wet! It is for ages 5 and up.

The vest is a great size and has plenty of pockets to hold all of their gear including the Pop-Up Field Guides that come with each item. They love all three pieces but really love sucking up bugs in the Bug Vacuum. It has a built in magnifying glass that can be turned with a little dial once you have the insect inside, to get a closer view. It can also be attached directly to the Bug Habitat (sold separately).

Both my son and daughters love these toys and have been having a blast playing with them so it is definitely suitable for both genders and multiple ages! Backyard Safari Outfitters is available right now at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.comand Target.
