Zevia Natural Sodas Review and Giveaway!

With all the junk additives to foods lately, I find myself leaning more and more towards items that are more natural. We are not totally all-natural consumers but when I find something natural that my entire family enjoys, I go for it!

I was extremely pleased to sample Zevia sodas with my children. They are all-natural, no calorie sodas flavored with Stevia. If you think you have never used Stevia, you might be wrong as many lip protection products are also sweetened with it. Stevia is an herb native to South and Central America, and grown now in Asia. For centuries, native Americans of Paraguay and Brazil called it “sweet leaf” and used it to sweeten foods. Stevia helps with dental hygiene, recent studies found it has antioxidant properties and other health benefits, and it contains no calories.

Zevia sodas are also sweetened with a product called Erythritol, a natural sweetener found in many fruits and vegetables.

It is extracted from those sources by a natural fermentation process. The erythritol in Zevia® exists in the same form – unchanged – as it does in plants and vegetables. Although erythritol is classified as a sugar alcohol, erythritol does not cause the gastrointestinal issues associated with other polyols like xylitotl, malitol, and sorbitol.

We were sent for review the six can mixed pack containing one each:

  1. Zevia® Natural Cola
  2. Zevia® Natural Ginger Root Beer
  3. Zevia® Natural Orange
  4. Zevia® Natural Twist (lemon-lime)
  5. Zevia® Natural Black Cherry
  6. Zevia® Natural Ginger Ale

All of the sodas were delicious and only had a slight “different” taste. It’s not really a diet taste, actually, it is hard to explain. Because you are not tasting high-fructose corn syrup, aspartame and all the other nasty regular soda ingredients, you might imagine a diet taste but it’s actually just a nice sweet taste. The sodas are just plain yummy! I can NOT drink regular diet sodas because they leave a horrible aftertaste and trigger my migraines. I had no problem at all with Zevia. They tasted great and didn’t cause a single headache but I  was still able to enjoy a 0 calorie soda. My absolute favorite was the Black Cherry. It has the nicest Black Cherry flavor with out being too sweet. It is delicious! My children loved all of the flavors and I had a hard time keeping them out of them so I could taste each one. They were devoured quickly. My son is an avid root beer fan and he said that he LOVED the Ginger Root Beer and was upset that we didn’t have more.

The Vampire Diaries: Week 3

By now it’s surely no secret that I love The Vampire Diaries and have a major crush on both Stefan and Damon. I can’t even decide which I like best so I’ve agreed (with myself no less) to just ♥ them both! Hmm, kind of like Katherine and her inability to choose just one. :0)

Anyway, among the seriousness and drama of a Vampire show there are some totally funny, hilarious moments. One of my most favorite scenes was after Stefan went on a human-blood binge in which he really cut loose and showed a goofy side, then got back on the wagon, so to speak. His brother, Damon and Elena had the following conversation:

Damon: He’s back to boring, straight laced, and off the junk. You successfully cured him of anything that was interesting about his personality.

Elena: Don’t forget who helped me.

Damon: I hate myself.

HEHEHEHE some of the lines crack me up. There are many more and some funnier but I’d be here all night writing the entire dialog so I picked one that stuck with me.

You have go to get the Complete First Season – which arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on August 31. it is SO good! And don’t forget, new episodes begin airing Sept.9. WOO HOO I can’t wait!

Find out why the love of a dangerous girl turned brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore into deadly enemies in The Vampire Diaries: Stefan’s Diaries #1: Origins!

I have been hired by Warner Bros WB Word division to raise awareness for The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season – which arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on August 31. Discover which vampire is your love type by taking this matchmaking quiz: http://bit.ly/aPyuq2!

Moon Dough Barnyard Review

My 3 year old daughter and I have been having a wonderful time playing with Moon Dough Barn Set by Spin Master. Moon Dough is soft and has a marshmallow type texture. It is hypo-allergenic and wheat-free so it is safe for most children. In the Barn Set, you receive 3 colors of dough, white, blue and yellow and you can purchase other colors separately. These colors are more than enough to ge you started and you can also mix the yellow and blue to get a night light green.

My daughter and I have a great time molding the dough into different shaped animals, fence pieces and hay bales. And when we accidentally had two colors in the mold at the same time, they turned out even cuter!

While the Moon Dough has a marshmallow like texture, it also has a slight sandy texture. it comes in small chunks that can be easily rolled into a ball. We had no trouble at all molding it. And it wasn’t nearly as messy as I thought it would be. All I had to do to get the bits off the table was roll a small ball of dough and use it to “grab” the pieces. I would recommend placing a piece of newspaper down though for even easier clean-up.

Another thing that surprised me is that is is not wet. AT ALL! It is completely dry to the tough and never dries out or gets hard like most molding doughs. It is soft and pliable.

We had so much fun playing farm together and will most likely be making it a weekly play date!

Stride Everyday Panties

If you’ve ever given birth, you most likely know all to well about bladder leakage. From light to heavy. It seems like after you have had a baby, the slightest movement, sneeze, cough, etc. causes at least a little dribble. Even if you’ve not had a baby, research shows that most women will experience some sort of light leaks in their lifetime. And it’s miserable.

MOM-Preneur , Wendy Spencer, president/founder of Stride Everyday Panties has come up with a wonderful new line of underwear with a built-in pantyliner! The panties are machine-washable and made with a patented multi-layer fabric technology, designed to wick away and absorb up to an ounce of moisture, and naturally deodorize for a fresh feeling all day long. They are registered for Class One FDA clearance.

I have been testing two of the 5 available styles of Stride panties and really love them. These are not bulky bladder control undies. They are regular, sexy underwear with a built in, barely there liner. I have not had to deal with any wetness and have not noticed a bit of odor like with regular liners. I can wear these panties all day and they just work great!

The two styles I am testing out are the Mid-Rise Brief and the Seamless. I am in love with the briefs! And while I like the liner portion of the seamless style, there is no waist band in those and they tend to roll down on me. I am weighty so I need that waist band in order for my undies to fit correctly. :0) The briefs stay in place and offer just the right amount of stretch and comfort. The liner never bunches, is covered in fabric and wicks away any and all moisture leaving me dry and feeling fresh.
