My family and I love to go camping. As a little girl we always went in the fall and it was my most favorite experience. With my mom now gone, I often reflect on those things that I want to experience with my own children. And camping outdoors on a crisp Autumn day is one of my favorites. But if, like us, yo go in a tent, you’re likely to freeze your booty off!
So when presented with the question of what wool items I would purchase at Rambler’s Way if I had $200 to spend, I jumped at the chance to do a little window shopping. Now, I typically think of wool as itchy and not necessarily something I’d want, regardless of warmth, but Ramblers Way has developed a fabric that is labeled as “Next-to-Skin worsted wool” for “superior next-to skin softness and comfort” so I decided to check it out. These are the items I chose and they would be PERFECT for camping this fall!
This top is available in sizes XS (0-2) – XL (16-10). It is machine washable and dryable due to a natural enzyme that also helps it to resist shrinkage, not something you generally imagine with a wool product.

These Long Jane underwear would be wonderful on a cool night snuggled up in a blanket under the stars. They are also available in sizes XS (0-2) – XL (16-18). They are made from Ramblers Way Superfine American Rambouillet 18.5 micron wool. It is listed as breathable and great for cold OR warm months! Like the top and other products, it repels moisture and odors and is machine washable and dryable.
They use organic, no-till, and best management practices to protect wildlife habitat and preserve critical ecosystems. Their sheep breed and lamb naturally and graze rotationally. To give back to the Earth and community they partner with Rambouillet sheep farmers only in America and use an environmentally-sensitive enzyme wash that is a chlorine-free, patented treatment. Ramblers Way uses minimal packaging, made from reclaimed materials that are compostable and recyclable and generate their own renewable solar and geothermal energy.
This sounds like a company that I would be proud to shop from. I requested a sample of their fabric so I can see just how soft and wonderful it is. And if I love it as much as I think I will, I’ll be digging into my pocket-book to purchase the Long Janes and Long Sleeve top!!!
