My youngest daughter is 14 months old and past the “colic” stage but she still suffers from occasional painful tummy aches just as other gassy infants do. Recently she has been teething and along with teething comes loud crying. Along with the loud crying comes inhalation of even more air causing even more gas and right back to the tummy ache we go. It’s a vicious never-ending cycle.
I’ve used simethicone drops but have always wondered about using Gripe Water which can be used for colic as well as gas and reflux in toddlers. Have you used it? If so, how did it work? My daughter cried from 11:26 P.M until after 5 A.M. the other night/morning because of teething and tummy ache so this mommy needs some help! Nothing seemed to calm her down. Finally, I think she just wore herself out. Of course, I had to get back up at 6 and she woke up right along with me so one hour of sleep didn’t do much to improve anyone’s mood.
Anyway, I’d love your opinions on Gripe Water and if you recommend it for toddlers as well as younger babies.

I don’t know very much about Gripe Water, but I do know that many children with the same problems that you are describing get relief with chiropractic care. Both colic and stomach problems are ailments that I see all the time in my office. With very gentle adjustments, chiropractors are able to restore the body to normal function thus relieving many symptoms and health problems. I would strongly suggest getting your daughter checked by a chiropractor that specializes in kids (you can find one in your area on the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association Website).
