Stormy skies and horrendous winds!

OMG did you all get hit by those awful thunderstorms yesterday? We had warnings posted all over the state here in Kentucky. My 2 youngest girls and I were sitting near my computer when all of a sudden the local Tornado alarm went off. I think I must have jumped about 10 feet in the air before grabbing the girls up and running to the bathroom. We got in the bathtub and waited until the siren had stopped.

I don’t think I have ever been that terrified during a storm. at least not since being married and having kids. but oh my goodness, being here just me and the little ones, plus my older kids at school and not with me, I was PETRIFIED! I hate storms anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the sound of rain and even thunder but the wind… oh my gawd the wind. And the lightening. That makes me a nervous wreck! I remember as a teenager, watching the movie Twister. That summer we had a serious bout of tornadoes in the area and I was freaked out the entire time. You could see little funnel clouds moving in the fields across from my house and back behind it in the creek bed. It was the freakiest thing I have ever seen. I would just sit in my moms living room holding my little bible and praying like crazy. I think yesterday brought that fear right back to the surface. Only I was sitting in my bathtub with two tiny tots praying like crazy! lol Thank God we are all ok.

So did you all get any of the storms in your area? How did you fair? Do you like thunderstorms?
