Zibits & My Secret Circle Review

We recently tested out two great products, Zibits (for boys) and My Secret Circle (for girls)

Zibits are extremely cute little remote controlled mini-r/c robots. We tested out the robot named Gunk. He is said to be “all heart and no brains” and his specialty is destruction. At around 3 – 4 inches, he is a powerful little robot able to make complete 360° turns and he moves very quickly. We had so much fun racing him around the kitchen! My son and I took turns racing it and then the girls got in on the action. They had so much fun with this tiny little robot. He’s miniature but really packs the entertainment!

My Secret Circle

As a parent, you have most likely had debates with your children about Social Networking sites, eg. Facebook, and MySpace, and if they are old enough to interact on them. My Secret Circle is a social networking site designed specifically for girls ages 8 – 12. It is a safe and secure alternative for young girls to play online.

The thing I like best about My Secret Circle is the amount of privacy your child has and the control you as a parent have. The pack come with a special USB drive Access Key (2 in the BFF pack) that, when inserted into your computers USB port, opens a special browser and allows your child to create and utilize their account online. Your child must login with their password each time the access key is inserted into a computer. Only their password will work it.

In order to add friends to their list and be able to socialize with them, they must have that friends unique access key code and vice verse. I LOVE this security feature. I know that some random person can’t happen across my daughter and befriend her online.

With My Secret Circle, your daughter can create an avatar, enter into her online journal, upload photos, chat with friends and play games. My daughter and I tested this together and she really loves it. It gives her enough online socialization with her friends while keeping her info safe. This is a great social service for girls 8 – 12.
