On Friday, January 28, CMT will air it’s first scripted series, “Working Class“, starring Melissa Peterman and Ed Asner. In it’s debut, CMT will air back-to-back new episodes. I had the lucky pleasure to premier the first episode and it was FUNNY! Like a lot of new series, it did start out a bit slow but picked up pretty quickly. I think this is going to be a great new series.
If you ever watched the hit show “Reba” starring Reba McIntyre, you’re already familiar with Melissa Peterman who portrayed Barbara Jean. She is hilarious and “Working Class” seems like it is going to be equally as funny. “Working Class” also features Golden-Globe Award winning actor Ed Asner as Carli’s (Melissa Peterman) cranky neighbor and Deli co-worker, Hank. Their chemistry is great in this series and I enjoyed every minute of their screen time together. I think CMT has picked the perfect duo!
In the series, Carli has led a fairly rough life trying to raise 3 kids and is trying to give them a better life while working at job int he local grocery stores deli. It reminds me of the show “Grace Under Fire” if you ever watched that. It is funny and full of great actors and actresses. Melissa Peterman is one of my favs so I was very excited to preview the show. It did not disappoint.
Cast List:
• Melissa Peterman – “Carli Mitchell”
• Ed Asner – “Hank Greziak,” Carli’s neighbor.
• Steve Kazee – “Nick Garrett,” Carli’s brother.
• Patrick Fabian – “Rob Parker,” Carli’s boss and love interest.
• Lachlan Buchahan – “Scott Mitchell,” Carli’s eldest son.
