Here in Kentucky, you can definitely feel spring in the air. You can also see it on the trees and in the flower beds! Our Tulips have not yet bloomed but they are up and I can see the little blossoms inside the foliage. And the Decorative Pear in the front has little buds galore! The birds are tweeting and the wind chimes are chiming. And I can’t wait! Once the mud dries up, I plan on shopping around and browsing wooden swing sets. The kids have a metal one, but it is starting to get old and haggard and honestly is much too small for our son, who is eleven.
I’d like to find one that can accommodate him as well as the girls. Maybe one with a playhouse/clubhouse area. When he isn’t off playing with his buddies, he feels left out with his three sisters all on our current swing set. So, I’m thinking the wooden ones are better. They are bigger and you can add on to them. We’re also toying with the idea of a small pool but with little ones around, I’m a little scared to try that just yet. They don’t go out alone, but it still scares me.
Aside from that, there is SO much yard work to do this year! It seems like all of the grass in our front yard has washed away leaving behind a nasty mud zone. It is GROSS! I want grass and beautiful flowers, not mud. Add to that all of our neighbors trash cans from far down the lane blow around in the crazy winds we’ve been having so there are small pieces of trash and nasty cigarette butts here and there. It definitely needs a good clean-up. I’m thinking I’ll don the kids with rubber gloves and trash bags and we will set out on the first warm weekend for some family yard work. Then we’ll plant some flowers if it is warm enough. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
What’s it like where you live? Is Spring in sight or are you still dealing with cold and snow?
