Slow Cookers and Can Openers from CSN Stores. Review.

CSN Stores is one of my absolute favorite places to shop for home goods and decor. I recently had the amazing opportunity to select two products for review and I’d like to talk a little about each of them.

7 Qt. Slow Cooker in Stainless Steel

The first item is the 7 Qt. Stainless Steel Slow Cooker by Hamilton Beach. This slow cooker is fantastic. We are a family of six and I can cook a large roast without worrying about it being too big for the cooking pot. The only downside compared to my small slow cooker is that you can’t go from stove to cooking base. It is more like a crock pot. So if I want to brown my roast first, I need to use a skillet and then transfer it to the slow cooker. That isn’t a big deal, it just becomes a two pot meal instead of a one pot meal. No problem.

The stoneware pot and glass lid can be washed in the dishwasher which is  HUGE plus in my opinion. It has three settings, “Keep Warm”, “Low”, and “High”. This is great for not only cooking meats and veggies, beans, etc. but also keeping them warm throughout the meal AND for keeping warm dips, chicken wings, etc. warm during parties and get togethers. So it is multi-functional. And I HAVE cooked all of those items as well as soups in my cooker. I have a long list of other items I’m itching to try as well. Did you know you can bake cakes in a slow cooker/ crock pot?!?! I didn’t but I sure am going to try it!

The cooking base is extremely light weight but the stoneware pot is quit heavy so it is a great, heavy-duty slow cooker.

Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener by Cuisinart

The next item is one I have needed for a very long time. It is the Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener by Cuisinart. Hubby and I received our previous can opener as a wedding gift nearly 15 years ago and while it had a good long life, it was on its last legs the last few months. It finally had to be laid to rest and went to the big can opener heaven in the sky.

The Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener by Cuisinart is a very heavy weight can opener. It is nice and tall and can open large juice cans. It is a very quiet can opener too. My last can opener was quite loud so I was pleasantly surprised by the quietness of the Cuisinart can opener.

It has an extra-wide base to prevent sliding or tipping, and the “press-and-release” lever makes opening any size can effortless. It is extremely easy to use too. I just place the can against the two metal posts on the front, lightly push the lever down and violá, it quickly opens the can without me having to hold it or manually turn it. Nice and easy!

While $49.85 might seem a little pricey for a can opener, I have to say that it is definitely worth the price. It is a great can opener and would make a fantastic wedding gift!
