I gave my kids cauliflower and they didn’t even know it! Sneaky, aren’t I? Kraft has developed new line of pasta that is made with flour from what and cauliflower and offers a 1/2 serving of vegetables per one cup of product.
It is available in two flavors, original and three cheese. I fixed the three cheese flavor for supper the other night, without mentioning to my family that it was any different than our usual mac-n-cheese. They gobbled it right up without a word! Afterwards, I told them that they had just eaten pasta made form cauliflower. They had no clue and said it tasted the same as it ever does. (NOTE: I would never sneak in anything that wasn’t better for my family, or was gross or would hurt them in any way. I just wanted to add that.) The new Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Veggie Pasta Dinner cooks up quickly and easily just like regular pasta. You just add your milk, butter and cheese packet and you have yummy mac-n-cheese!
I love that it is another way to get veggies in my pickier eaters. My girls don’t care for most vegetables so I am ALWAYS looking for new ways to introduce them. I’m not normally one who likes to sneak things in, in another form. I like to get them to eat the natural, whole food when I can BUT they do love mac-in-cheese so I am giving them a food they’ll eat with some added nutrition. If they won’t eat the whole food, at least I know I have an option for them to still get the nutrients.
