We had a Nestle Ice Cream Sundae Social!

Nestle, Edy’s Ice Cream and Walmart = 3 of my favorite things. And I was able to share them with all of my favorite people! Last night, my family enjoyed a yummy ice cream sundae bar. I only got a taste because I’m doing the 6 week weightloss bootcamp but the taste I got was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I hadn’t ever had Edy’s (known in other states by the name of Dreyer’s) ice cream, which is also made by Nestle. So it was a real treat just to try something new. And the kids flipped out over it. I can honestly say there was not a drop of ice cream left in the containers! There were TONS of flavors to choose from at the store, but we decided to just go with vanilla and chocolate for the sundaes and then try other flavors for ice cream cones.

I used several Nestle brand products as our sundae toppings including crushed Butterfinger candy bars, mini chocolate chips and a hot fudge sauce made from NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa. We also had crushed mini chocolate chip cookies as well as the traditional toppings like cherries, whipped cream and strawberry topping and bananas for banana splits. I even bought some really cute, brightly colored bowls for serving and to hold the toppings.

It was a hoot watching everyone, especially the kids, pile on their favorite toppings with free range of what they wanted. They had everything from cookies/candy bar to banana splits and hot fudge sundaes to just plain ice cream. It all looked so good and everybody seemed to be satisfied. Some even a little overly satisfied with full bellies!!!

Everyone had such a wonderful time. I can’t wait to do it again. Having an Ice Cream Social sure is a wonderful way to kick off the summer! We usually have ice cream a few times during the summer anyway but I think the idea of having the entire family over for a Sundae Bar is a fantastic idea and will be doing it at least once a month during the summer. It is such a fun way to get everyone together!
