BuyPirateCostumes.com Childrens Pirate Costume Review

My family dresses up for Halloween every year. The entire family, not just the kids. Hubby and I dress up for trick-or-treating but we also dress up in different costumes and have a little party with our family. It is so much fun and the kids really love it. This year we all decided to do a whole theme for our party costumes instead of each picking something different. Were trying to decide between the whole family being vampires, which my son didn’t want and being pirates which he is all over! Lo and behold, BuyPirateCostumes.com asked me to review one of their affordable pirate costumes and I was all over that! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

After looking over the awesome site, I chose a darling Elizabeth Swann Pirate Costume for my 7 year old daughter. She is the hardest to buy for so I was truly happy when she saw the Elizabeth Swann Costume and asked if she could help with the review. Ok, so she might have begged a little but like I said, she is the hardest to buy for so it was a blessing that she fell in love with this costume.

The blouse and vest are attached and made quite well. We didn’t have any tearing or seam splitting and the vest is fairly thick. It also includes an attached shoulder strap. The blouse is a little short and her tummy shows quite a bit so we had to pull her pants up a little more than usual and sort of tuck the blouse part into them. The jacket is made to button only part of the way down so it didn’t cover the gap. You could easily make a small slit for the other buttons though if you want it to button further down. That was the only con to the entire costume! Seriously, the only one.

BB is totally in love with her new costume and super excited to be Elizabeth Swann this year. It also includes brown pants, brown boot tops, that she can wear over her brown boots to make them look like pirate boots,  and the hat.

This price is comparable to the costumes we usually see at our local mass merchandise store and it is made better and comes in many sizes. Most of the costumes at the local store are just your basic, black, white and red pirate costume and made of flimsy nylon. This costume is made well and very authentic looking. This particular costume is available in medium, large and extra large. The costumes are pretty true to size but they do advise adding a few extra inches for movement so I probably could have gone up a size in her costume to fit the tummy a little better.
