Did you happen to catch the CNN episode featuring Clark Howard and his book “Living Large in lean Times”? If not, you missed out on some really, REALLY great money saving tips! And while I’m trying to save money, I’m actually planning on purchasing his book to see if I can save even more. His tips and tricks are reportedly “tried -n- true” by him so I figure I’m not losing much by at least trying them out.

One of his tips is one that I DO know works because I do this myself. I purchase my prescription eyeglasses online. There are 2 sites that I use and I have not spent more than $25 on a pair since I began purchasing them online. I even buy my prescription sunglasses online. All you need is your prescription from your Dr. and your PD number (Pupilary Distance) so your glasses fit just right and your vision is perfect. Then you go online, select the frames and type of lenses or special additions you want, check out and BAM, you’ve saved a ton of money! This is one of the great ways to get the best ‘Bang for your Buck’.

Some of his other tips include wiping the water of a razor to make it last longer. Up to a year according to Mr. Howard! He says that shaving alone isn’t what dulls your blade but the standing water on the blades afterwards. You know, water causes metal to rust and razor blades are metal so wiping them off is a great idea. I’m going to try this and see just how long one will last!

The book has some awesome tips for free internet phone, not purchasing the extended warranties because credit cards usually offer this anyway and buying more than one newspaper with coupon inserts because different coupons are often printed on both sides causing you to miss out on one that you really wanted.

There seems to be some really great money saving tips in the book. Have you read it? If so, what is your favorite tip?
