Are you organized this back to school season? + Giveaway!

It is Back-to-School season and I am UNORGANIZED! I thought I was organized. I thought I was ready. But, man, thanks to things beyond my control, I wasn’t as organized as I thought. We ended up having to get several more booster vaccinations for two of my children. No one told me beforehand that they are requiring additional chicken pox vaccines and a couple others this year. So, along with all the other things I already had to do to get them ready, I had to add MORE Dr. appointments to the list. And I had just got them their physicals and eye exams. This particular Dr. doesn’t do a lot of vaccines and evidently, wasn’t properly prepared either. So between Open Houses for 3 different schools, Dr. appointments and eye exams for 2 different children, school shopping, blogging, household duties, etc. I’m ready to fall apart. Gee Willikers!

Anyway, I am quickly learning how to get organized. Or I guess I should say, how to get more organized. You know, it is EXTREMELY handy to have everything in one convenient place. And to have it all online is even better because I can access it from anywhere that way. I am the queen of notebooks, post it notes and folders but I don’t always have those things with me. With it all online, I can take my iPad and smartphone which is a lot easier to carry and add it all to a digital filing system and more.

I started using the AboutOne website so I can keep up with everything. I can add all my family members and their detailed info like name, birthdate, allergies, identifying marks, allergies, medication, etc. I can create a printable scrapbook, track medications, schedule Dr. appointments, look up numbers in my address book, etc. It is amazing to me that I can finally learn how to declutter this house without sacrificing important papers. I can scan documents and upload them and keep then handy too.

So, the kids have started school and I have tons of appointments, both blogging and personal, to keep. I have about 3 different calendars I normally use. I use my Google calendar because it syncs to my phone and iPad. I also use a desktop PC calendar and a standard paper calendar. OH and another personal calendar to keep up with my own personal things.It gets to be a bit much. I’d much rather use an online service to keep track of it all. Family records, Dr.’s appointments, business meeting/conference calls, Address book, health. You name it, I can now keep it right at my fingertips without being weighed down by notebooks and folders. Ahhh, I feel like I can breathe a little easier today. And from now on. Because now, I have a service to make it happen.
