My husband’s family goes to see a movie in the theater on every holiday. When we were dating, I thought it was a little strange when they went to a movie on Thanksgiving night when most families stay home and spend time together. Then after they did the same thing on Christmas night, I began to see that this was their tradition. His family just loves going to see movies. When my husband and I got married, I told him that as we have kids, I want to spend holidays at home together instead of at the movie theater. He said that he understood, but he loves watching movies so we decided to get some movie channels with Direct tv. This was one way we could compromise on the holiday movie tradition. Usually during the holidays the movie channels are showing festive movies, so we have made our own tradition of watching a movie as a family at home. Sometimes his family even comes over to watch the movie with us. The movie theaters have gotten so expensive, so it is nice to save a little money by watching a movie at home.
