Smarties Candies for Halloween because #IamASmartie. Gluten Free & Vegan too! #cbias

Smarties. Those sweet little candies that are beyond addictive. Pretty little pastel colored discs that put a smile on your face and make a better snack than you might realize. Did you know they are gluten free, vegan and great for those with chocolate and nut allergies? True story!

They are the perfect candy to hand out this Halloween. We have a Halloween Costume party each year. But before the festivities begin inside, we hand out candy to the few Trick-or-Treater’s that come our way. And this year, I’ll be heading to Walmart and stocking up on Smarties for the little ghouls and goblins.

I remember when I was a little girl, I ALWAYS put all the smarties in a bowl by themselves. Those were MINE (& my mom’s because she’d still them). Everyone else could share the rest of the loot. Now, being that I am a MAJOR chocoholic, that should really tell you something. I LOVE these things. I can literally eat them until I get sick. They are that good and that addictive. I never knew they were vegan and gluten free and allergy free. Now I have kids of my own who suffer from allergies. So knowing that little tidbit is wonderful news! They have a candy that they can eat without fear of allergies. Of course, they have to find them first! hehehehe

In all seriousness, I will be keeping a bowl of yummy, fabulous, delightful Smarties on my counter form now on. And everyone that comes through the door is welcome to help themselves! I will also be serving them at our Halloween Costume party. I have a few ideas of how to incorporate them into recipes but I’d love to hear any ideas you have too! For now, though, there is a bowl of them sitting out ready to dive in to.
