SantasHideout.com is a FUN site with a great way to manage your children’s Christmas gift wish list. When you create your FREE account, you can add all of your children and they can then create their list of the gifts they would like for Christmas. You decide how many gifts per child and the average cost. Once they have their lists made, you can choose who to share them with. You can share your list with any of your friends and family via email. Or you can direct them to a specific link for each child where they can choose which of the wish list items they would like to purchase. Your guests can add the items they want to buy your child, to the Santa’s Sleight, then they mark the item as being reserved or purchased. Purchases are made through Amazon.com directly from the list. Once an item is purchased, it is makrked off your childs list. If someone clicks the Check out With Amazon link but does not complete the transaction, it will still be marked as reserved. So you do need to keep an eye on your childs list if you know someone decided not to purchase an item. That way, you can put it back on their list. But it will send that guest a reminder if they didn’t complete the transaction. That is good if you know for sure that they do intend to complete the purchase. Then you can just leave it as reserved.
If you, the parent or, ahem, Santa want to reserve an item, just do so before you share your list. You can easily mark the item as reserved instead of purchasing it right away.
It couldn’t be any easier than that! The site is pretty simple to use. I didn’t have any trouble adding my children to my list or having them choose the gifts they wanted in their wish list. There is a FAQ section on the site for any questions you have about how it all works. The only downside I see is that there is not yet a Mobile app which would make it much easier to access lists while shopping. You can view the lists from your mobile browser but an app would be a little easier.
I’ve already created lists with my children. I love shopping at Amazon anyway so that makes it even easier for me to get the things they really want. Shopping is usually a hassle for me but I can’t wait to do my shopping this year!

How does Santa’s Hideout Work?
Registering is super easy, and happens in 2 easy steps where a parent will create their list names and give Santa some ground rules (like maximum number of items and price range). Then by either helping your recipient through the fun drag and drop process of filling their list or sending them an email from the jolly guy himself, recipients fill their List by adding items. Once a list is full, either in full or in part, Santa is good to go! Share a Lists with family and friends through email. An email will alert parents when there are updates made to a List by a recipient or a friend or relative. Best part, the parent is in control: can make changes to Lists, add or delete items and avoid duplicates. You can let family and friends know you are using Santa’s Hideout for gifting through Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Tumblr by accessing the social sharing tool in the upper right hand of the site.
