You may remember me posting last week about the Disney themed stocking my family was creating and filling for Champions for Kids? Well, we headed to Walmart, purchased our stocking(s) and fillers and then headed home and got busy putting it all together. We found several really cute Disney themed items to go into our stocking. I was on a limited budget but wanted to spend at least $25. I didn’t find quite as many Disney things as I wanted but I did find enough to fill the stocking to the top and I’m sure our little recipient will be happy. I started putting items for both a boy and a girl in my buggy even though I knew I could only do one, because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find enough items for either boy or girl. I was also hoping I’d fine enough inexpensive or sale items so that I could do both. So we started looking at items for both boys and girl. Ultimately, I found more female related items so we went with a stocking for a little girl. I’m keeping my eye out though for enough items to fill a stocking for a little boy too and will go back and finish another one.
The overall shopping experience was great. As I said I didn’t find as many affordable items as I would have liked considering this was a stocking and needed small items to fill it. And there weren’t many boy items at all that were Disney. But finding the items I did was easy enough and the checkout process was smooth and simple.
My oldest daughter wanted to be my helper for this project so while I included all of my children in the project, I let her lead the way. She spoke with the Family Resources director at her school and had her call me. After speaking with her, we decided that my daughter would be the one to bring the stocking in and she would make sure it went to the right little princess. She knew exactly who to give it to which made us very, very happy. So we made our stocking and my daughter took it to school and donated it. She wanted to be a big part of this project every step of the way and I am beyond proud of the young lady she is!
