Do you remember Polly Pocket?

Polly Pocket toys have been around for a long time. I remember them when I was growing up. They were much smaller then. They were designed to fit in your pocket for easy transportation. And they were great! I could easily take one or two to my friends house in my pocket or load them all up in my doll carrying case.
My own girls play with them now. They’ve changed quite a bit but they are still the most played with toy in our house! My youngest two daughters age 6 and 3 have been playing with the Polly Pocket Hangout House Playset & Stick N Play Room Assortment, pictured above. There are two major things that make these Polly Pocket toys different from years ago.
- They are slightly bigger
- They have suction cup bottoms

The bigger size is actually a lot better because they are easier to play with and keep up with . My daughters LOVE the suction cups because they can keep everything in place when they are playing. But they can also play upside down! The girls can suction cup the dolls and the playset accessories upside down in the house for a magical play experience. They love that. My 3 year old has been playing with this set non stop since the day we got it and her older sister has to literally fight for a chance to play. There are some really small pieces so I make sure I keep a close eye on the younger kids when they are playing with it.

They sets are darling though. The Hangout House comes with little cups and food. It also has bathroom accessories including a bathtub and toilet that the doll can even sit on! It is too cute! The bed can be flipped over to use as a swimming pool. You can also purchase additional smaller sets like the Game Room set. We have that one and the girls have been having a ball. It has a pool table that can be rotated and made into a ping pong table. It also has a chair, lamp and t.v. as well as a kitty cat and doll. Oh, the Hangout House has a pet and doll too!

Overall, I think that Polly Pocket toys are perfect for imaginative play. The girls really love them. The suction cups need to be wiped off fairly regularly. They seem to find dust that I didn’t even know was there. But they do stick really well and if wiped off regularly, they stick even better.

Now that the older daughter has had a chance to play alone, she said that she wants more sets. They are inexpensive ($9.99 +) and fun so we’ll definitely be getting them more sets to go with their Polly Pocket Hangout House.
TIP: We store the accessories and dolls in an empty baby wipes container!!!
