Aside from just posting product reviews, I try to post helpful advice and services for small business owners and online entrepreneurs. Today I am talking about an online store builder.
If you are just starting out online and you plan on selling physical goods or downloadable products, learning how to set up your online shopping cart can be quite daunting.
If you are doing everything from scratch without the help of an online store builder, it can be very hard for a novice. You will need to purchase a domain name, secure hosting, decide what you want your store to look like and also learn how to manage a mysql database. The database it what stores all of your product and customer info. If you don’t know what you are doing and haven’t taken at least some online classes to learn more about it, then you might be stuck.
That is why, in the beginning, a GOOD online store builder may be a good idea for you. It is especially good if you don’t want to learn all the techy mechanics of being a website owner. Although, personally, I DO recommend learning.
Someday, you may want to move to your own database and a good online store builder will allow you to make backups of your files that are hosted through them. So it is a great idea to do some research before choosing. Once you have chosen who you want to go with, it is very easy to upload your product photos, add prices and descriptions, etc. Then you will have a safe and secure place for your online customers to make purchases and they will be able to easily find what they are looking for in your store.
