Kmart’s “Big Layaway Giveaway”

I can't believe there are only 3 months until Christmas. THREE MONTHS! That might seem like a good while to some people. But I have four children and let me tell you, those three months will fly by in the blink of an eye. My Hubby and I always say we aren't going to go overboard with the gifts. But then we see all these things that we would love to give our babies. And things we knoe they would love to have. They are only young once and that is really the only time of year they get spoiled. We like to get them each one big gift and then a few stocking stuffers.

The only way we can really afford to get them each a big ticket gift is through free layaway programs like at Kmart. Layaway makes it so much easier to purchase holiday gifts becasue we can make payments each week until they are paid off. That's easier than just saving the money up becasue the items are "secured" in a way. They are on hold, ready for us to pay off and pick up.

I found a couple of great things that our younger two daughters are goin to love. I am thinking about getting them an outdoor ride on toy to share like this Barbie car:

And our youngest has already pointed out that she MUST HAVE the Gymnastics Dora doll. She is very to the point with what she wants and just has to, has to, has to have it.

My older two are into the REALLY big ticket items like video game consoles and iPods and smartphones, etc. In order to surprise them with something like that, layaway is definitely the way to go. I can make a very small down payment and then pay on it each week until it is paid off.So, the hubs and I will DEFINITELY be doing that this year. Buying school clothes on layaway is also a great way to make purchases!

Some of my other favorite stores have layaway plans also but they don't have as many benefits as Kmart.

Kmart has layaway year round and on most all items in store so I can use it for birthday gifts, back to school, etc. Walmart only offers their layaway program, now, during the Holidays and only on certain items. Best Buy and Toys R Us are similar. Also, with Kmart, I can layway online and pick my items up in store. Or even shop in one state and pick up in another! Other stores don't offer that option.
