Can you believe it is almost 2013? Would a $50 Minted.com giveaway make it better?

This year has truly flown right by. I remember heading out to the Black Friday sales last year. It seems like it was just last week, not nearly a year ago!

With the new year fast approaching, it is time to start designing those Holiday and New Year cards! I admit, I haven’t even begun to think about my Holiday greeting cards yet and I really need to get on that! I usually plan them around this time so that I have plenty of time to get them designed, proofed and ordered. Then I make sure I have updated addresses for everyone.

I like to use photos from our fall vacation. I do this for a couple of reasons. One, it is the only time we can manage to get a full family photo. And two, it is a time when we are at our happiest. The smiles are forced. They are natural. When we get family portraits done, it seems like at least one (or all) of us are in a bad mood and the photos just don’t seem as sincere. To me, a Holiday greeting should be 100% sincere including the photo if you use one. SO, we use photos from our yearly fall mountain getaway. And they turn out really well. Natural and perfect. I usually use one photo for my Christmas cards and another for my New Year cards. I like to wish people a Happy New Year with a card. I love getting cards in return. To me, it is such a nice way of letting someone know you are thinking about them in the new year, not just religious holidays.

I know, I know I’m talking about Christmas and New Year cards but their Halloween decor caught my eye too. I could shop all day long.
