Ok, so I recently had the chance to preview “The True Story of Puss-n-Boots” by French author Charles Perrault, with the voice of William Shatner. While I already felt like Puss-n-Boots had a bit of adult context to it showing us that even kids from the “wrong side of the tracks” can strive to make a great life, I was hoping that with a “G” rating, this movie would be more kid friendly.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. The female characters are extremely busty and in some parts, have more cleavage than I do! WHOA MOMMA! There is a hint of nudity and adult storyline that I just don’t find appropriate for young children. The same children that a “G” rating is meant for. That, and it is really sort of creepy. William Shatner is a bit raunchy in interviews and adult shows anyway. I think it carried over a bit too much in this film and his strange voice. So I am VERY glad that I preview movies before allowing my children to view them. I screen all family night movies in advance… just in case. PHEW!
The idea of the story is ok. The graphics are fabulous. The “G” rating is just plain wrong!
