Doodle Roll i a fun drawing roll complete with crayons and storage container. We received for review the 4inch and 6 inch sizes. The rolls of paper and the crayons are inside a plastic clamshell container and make rolling the paper out very easily. There is also a lightly perforated edge on the bottom so you can easily tear your drawing off the roll.

I had my 8 year old daughter take the 6 inch roll and my 5 year old daughter take the 4 inch roll. Our 2 year old had to have her own paper so she could join in the fun! I turned them loose and let them Doodle at will.

Both girls had a ball drawing on their paper. My 5 year old wanted to unroll a super long piece of paper and tear it off before drawing on it. My 8 year old liked keeping hers on the roll until she was finished and then tore it off for displaying. They sat quietly. They didn’t fuss and argue like they do with other toys.  They actually got along really well until they were finished with their drawings.

My 8 year old made a picture of a house just for me. Then she pulled out two slightly longer pieces of paper from her Doodle Roll and made Thanksgiving banners to hang up during our Thanksgiving meal. They turned out beautifully!

Moon Dough. Same Great Toy, All NEW Formula!

moondough1.jpg

My kids love to play with Moon Dough. But in the past, even though it didn’t dry out, it was too crumbly and messy. It was fairly easy to clean up but the mess just wasn’t worth it. There is now a brand new formula that is less crumbly but still doesn’t dry out! It stays moist basically forever.

My children and I recently had the awesome good time playing with the Moon Dough Push N’ Pop Breakfast set. It comes with a package of red moon dough, yellow moon dough, 3 Push & Pop Tools, Twisty Mold and 1 Themed Mat. We accidentally tore the mat a little getting the package open. It was a little hard. We had a blast making pancakes and toast and waffles and jars of honey. The dough still has the super soft texture but is less sandy feeling. It molds very easily and really holds its shape well. The colors don’t mix together very easily though so if you want more than the colors in the kit, you might want to purchase them separately. I tried to mix some of the yellow and red together and it took forever to get it only slightly mixed. One thing that I really love about it though, is that it is odor free. Unlike other molding doughs, Mood Dough doesn’t leave you smelling icky.

I didn’t want to stop playing with it! It is a really fun toy for kids 3 & up.

Moon Dough is available in many colors and play sets at Toys “R” Us, Target, Walmart, Kmart, Amazon.com, A.C. Moore, Michaels and eToys.

Moon Dough Push N’ Pop Breakfast (Suggested Retail Price: $9.99, Ages 3 & up)

Glow Crazy Distance Doodler Review.

glowcrazy2.jpg

The kids and I have been having SO much fun with the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler. It is super easy to use. The doodler uses 4 AAA batteries and the pack includes 2 large sheets of the white paper, stencils and the doodler. All you do is place your paper on the wall, add a stencil or go free-hand, turn out the lights and doodle away!

glowcrazy1.jpg

The Distance Doodler uses a laser light to draw images on the paper. After shining the light on it, you are left with a nice glow in the shape of your drawing. There are two lights. One draws a thin line and the other makes wide beams. The wider beam is great for coloring in large areas.

I tried to get pictures of us using it because I wanted you to see it in action but I only managed to get a little bit of the laser in the photo. It just wouldn’t show up in my photo very well. Then I turned my flash on so you can see the paper, doodler and a little of the beam. That photo is taken in the dark but with the flash, everything shows up.

The Glow Crazy Distance Doodler is extremely addictive. We drew on it for hours. You can use the wide beam to sort of “erase” what you’ve drawn by covering the entire area. The kids drew stars and circles and faces and dinosaurs. You name it, they had fun trying to draw it! Mommy lacks any real Doodle talent so my shapes weren’t the best in the world. Instead, I had fun writing everyone’s name on it and playing with the stencils.

At night, the kids LOVED seeing the paper glowing in their room. They had stars all night long!

The Glow Crazy Distance Doodler makes a GREAT gift for your child. (Mommy likes it too! :D )

Retail: $24.99 + $9.95 S&H

It is showing as sold out on the site until July 15 but you can also find it at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us.

CAT Tough Tracks Play Set by ToyState

Who says girls don’t play with trucks?!?! My 4 year old daughter, and 2 year old daughter love trucks every bit as much as their baby dolls. They play with them both at the same time, they play with them separately. Either way, they love trucks!

When we received the CAT Tough Tracks Play Set, my 4 year old squealed with delight and ripped the truck from the box almost before I had finished opening it! Both girls have been having a wonderful time playing with the Dump Truck and Hard Hat. They also come with a shovel and rake (not included in our set) and are meant to be played with in the sand or in the dirt. We have been having so much rain and storms here that they haven’t really had the chance to play outside with them. But that hasn’t stopped them. They play inside and have just as much fun!

cattoughtracks1.jpg cattoughtracks2.jpg

The only problem I have with my girls playing with this set is that they are constantly fighting over who gets to wear the Hard Hat! The truck is made very well of a nice, hard plastic so I don’t have to worry about sharp metal edges. They toys are great for toddlers and are a really nice size as you can see in the photo above. All around, it is just a great toy for both boys and girls of all ages 2 and up!

CAT Tough Tracks 2-pack Playset is for ages 2+.

MSRP: $10.00

Available at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and Target
