Green Works Cleaning Products Review

I have been testing our Green Works® cleaners. Green Works® are a line of naturally derived cleaning products made by Clorox. While I love using natural products to clean my home, I was a little skeptical about the cleaning power and scent of Green Works®. Until I used them!I was fully prepared to tell you if they didn’t work. But, they work wonderfully!!!

I received for review the Natural All Purpose Cleaner, Biodegradable Wet Wipes, Laundry Detergent and Natural Bathroom Cleaner. I knew I would be receiving these cleaning products and really wanted to put them to the test. I started with the Natural All Purpose Cleaner.

I clean my kitchen sink each day with cleaning wipes and give it a good scrubbing at least twice a week. However, in order to test the Green Works® cleaning products, I decided to let it go a couple of days. We drink a lot of tea and coffee so I knew the stains would build up very quickly. And they did! But just look at how well the Natural All Purpose Cleaner worked. I used a basic scrubber and very little elbow grease. I was pleasantly surprised!

There were NO harsh odors. In fact, there was only a nice, mild sort of citrus-y scent. It was very pleasant. Most cleaners take my breath or cause sneezing fits and I have to wear a mask and keep the windows open. With the Green Works®, I was able to forgo that and just keep the door open, allowing regular, good ventilation. I didn’t have to open the entire house up. For those of us with allergies, that is AWESOME!  And just look at how clean and shiny my kitchen sink is!!!

The next product I tried were the Green Works Cleaning Wipes.

The cleaning wipes also worked very well. They aren’t as large or thick as regular Clorox cleaning wipes but they did still get the job done. I used them on my counters, bathroom sink and toilet seat for quick clean-ups. They didn’t leave any sticky residue behind and they still cleaned sticky spills right up. They are made with naturally derived ingredients, such as citric acid and wood fibers so you can throw them in the green bin when you’re done using them. They are also safe for most non-wood surfaces, including acrylic, fiberglass and vinyl.

Then, I tried the Natural Bathroom Cleaner.

The Green Works® Natural Bathroom Cleaner also worked very well. With four children, my bathroom gets dirty quickly. I used this cleaner to clean the toilet rim, sink and bathtub. I don’t believe it would remove mildew stains that might creep up on grout, but for over all bathroom cleaning it did a fantastic job. Again, no harsh chemical smell, only a nice, citrus-y scent that was mild and not overpowering. My faucet shined and the toothpaste that my kids dropped in the sink came right out.

The final product I tried was the Green Works Laundry Detergent. It also has that wonderfully pleasant scent. It isn’t clear but it is still 96% naturally derived, and dermatologist-tested for sensitive skin. It does not contain phosphates, optical brighteners or harsh chemical residues. It is also formulated for both standard and high-efficiency (HE) washers. My clothes came out nice and clean. There weren’t any stains left behind and it didn’t seem to irritate my skin. This is another nice product in the Green Works line.

Pros:

  • All the cleaners seemed to clean really, really well.
  • No harsh chemical fumes
  • No residue
  • Naturally derived

Cons:

  • The price. If you are on a limited budget, Green Works® products are a bit costly compared to other products. In my store, they were around 75 cents to a dollar higher. However, while I usually go for the least expensive due to budget, the fact that these products are naturally derived, do not put off harsh fumes and clean so well, I will purchase them for my cleaning needs.
  • Might not clean mildew stains as well but really, bleach is the only thing I’ve found that does anyway! So that’s really not a con, just an observation.

The Green Works website has all the products listed and when you click the Buy now link, it gives you price comparisons so you can find the best place to make your purchase. That is very helpful!
