How To Make Super Quick Hair Twist Styles For Girls

I love braiding my daughters’ hair. And they always want a fashionable hairstyle for school but with 3 girls all getting ready at the same time I don’t always have the time to style their hair the way they want. Standard braids are quick enough but if they want something a little trickier, I just don’t have the time.

I needed a way to make super quick hair twist styles. We recently tried out the Conair Quick Twist Double-Strand Braider​ and it worked really well!

My daughters all 3 have different textures of hair and I was able to use it for all three with similar results. Our oldest daughter has very fine hair that is long and all one length. No bangs. Our middle daughter has SUPER thick hair and tons of it. She has shoulder length hair and bangs. And our youngest daughter has long, fine hair. Her hair is similar to our oldest daughter’s hair with the exception of bangs.

The Conair Quick Twist Double-Strand Braider​ is extremely easy to use. Here are the steps I followed to complete the look in the photo above.

1. Comb a small section of hair, approx. 1″ wide.
2. Separate into two sections.
3. Using button, lift one clasp and slide one strand of hair into clasp, sliding it to the ends of hair..
4. Release button.
5. Repeat with other section.
6. Making sure ends of hair are evenly placed in the clip, hold Quick Twist tightly and slide rotating switch up.
7. Both strands will begin to spin.
8. Once hair is spun tight, rotate the unit, by hand, in the direction the arrow on the styler is pointing.
9. Holding ends of hair tight, release hair from claps and finish with a hair elastic or clip.

That was easy!

My oldest and youngest daughters twist braids come out a little thinner and the clips fit really well. I prefer to use them in their hair instead of the hair elastics. I feel like they hold better in their hair.

Our middle daughter’s hair is so thick that I have to remember to use really thin strands or the braids are too thick to use the clasps. Otherwise, I just use a hair elastic to hold it. But even then, we don’t want them too thick.

You can also twist in ribbon threads by using the little included clips and clipping one to a strand of hair and then following the instructions, above, to twist braid the hair. The strand with the ribbon goes in one clasp and the other strand of hair in the other. Then finish it off with a hair elastic or clip and trim off the excess ribbon length.

I didn’t have much luck with the ribbons. I think we need a little more practice getting them to look even.

I also love that you’re not limited to just making hairstyles. You can use the Conair Quick Twist Double-Strand Braider to make necklaces, bracelets and headbands by clipping the ribbon threads together with one of the hair clips, holding them with your hand and using them in place of hair. Then clip and trim and you’re done! So cool!

The Quick Twist styler uses batteries and not a plug so there is no heat and no fear of your kids using a plugged in styler. It stays cool and kids 6 and older can use it, supervised.

There are a lot of videos online showing different hairstyles you can create with the Conair Quick Twist Double-Strand Braider. I’m going to try making a hair headband as well as some of the bun hair styles. I think they will be really pretty!
