6 Weeks Of Pantene Platinum Color Lock. Before and After.

Ok folks, 6 weeks ago I dyed my hair and since that time I’ve been having a 6 week long hot and heavy relationship with Pantene Platinum Color Lock shampoo. I wanted to see if it held up to the hype of keeping my dye job from fading through shampooing. It claimed to keep my color fresh and vibrant for up to 6 weeks. I didn’t believe it. I’ve been down that road of  a gorgeous new color fading fast. The fear of washing my hair and ridding myself of my brunette. Cleansing my hair only to be saddened when I looked in the mirror later.

So….. wanna know if Pantene Platinum Color Lock kept my hair color from fading out these last 6 weeks? Here you go.

Pantene Platinum at Sam's Club

The first photo was taken in April right after coloring my hair and before the first post-color wash. The second photo was taken 6 weeks later on May 22. The color is still dark! Now, my hair grows fairly fast so my gray roots had grown out about a 3/4 of an inch so I did end up doing a root touch up. But the length of my hair still held the same vibrancy and tone of color as when I first dyed it in April.

I am impressed! I usually can’t get by with just a root touch up. I always have to re-dye all of my hair to touch up the color and make it look new again. My hair is naturally a dark blonde/light brown with red/copper highlights. During the summer, I add really light blonde highlights all over (basically bleaching my hair) and then dye it brown a couple of weeks later. This makes it look like brown hair with caramel highlights. So when it fades, you can really tell. Because it’s bleached beneath the hair dye.  This time, I only did the root touch up. The rest of my hair is still dark! The front, the sides and the back are all still brown. YAY!

Aside from using Pantente Platinum Color Lock shampoo, I have a few more tips to help your hair color last over on our initial Pantene Platinum Color Lock “before” post.

I love how big the bottles of Pantene Platinum Color Lock at Sam’s Club are. They are giant 40 fl. oz. pump bottles of Pantene Platinum Color Lock shampoo and conditioner at Sam’s Club. They started carrying it on April 6 so it should be available in your local Sam’s Club now. I love that Clay and I are able to go to Sam’t Club and buy products in big bottles. There’s 6 of us so buying in bulk saves us money.

And those 40 oz bottles really last too! I’ve been using it for 6 weeks, along with 2 of my daughters, and there is still quite a bit left. They are large bottles and come with a pump so it is super easy to use in the shower too. I can just pump a little in my hand and I don’t have to worry about messing with caps or flip tops. I just pump and wash and then pump and condition.

I’m very happy with my results from my 6 week Pantene Platinum Color Lock challenge. Pantene is my favorite shampoo anyway. I’m in love with the fragrance and how my hair looks

Why Use Pantene Platinum Color Lock?

  • Pantene Platinum Color Lock is a new shampoo and conditioner system available at Sam’s Club.
  • It helps you lock in your look longer, giving you salon-quality color protection.
  • With Nutri-Lock technology, this system works from the hair’s core to help provide color protection for up to six weeks (shampoo and conditioner system vs. non-conditioning shampoo).
  • Together, this shampoo and conditioner help fight color fade as well as the $40 leading professional brands, based on Kline sales data.

    • Heidi,
It did add shine to my hair. My hair is so thick it takes A LOT to add much fullness or body but on the days is was freshly washed it did have a little extra fullness.
