House And Home

As soon as spring comes around, it’s the perfect time of year for you to think about getting out into the garden and preparing things for summer. At this time of the year, we often think about the spring refresh we need to do indoors, but we also need to show the same love and care to the outside too! This is especially the case when you want to enjoy it in the summer. Here’s how you can get started/

Clear Everything Back

The best place to start here is by cutting everything back. You will always find that your garden will tend to get a little overgrown during the winter months, then everything starts to blossom come spring. So, to make sure that your garden can look its best in the summertime, you need to cut everything back so that it stays under control. This then gives you a sort of clean slate to work with.

Clean and Tidy

When the trees, shrubs, and plants in your garden are in better shape, you can then take a look at cleaning and tidying the area up a little bit. Great chores to do here are cleaning up your patio or decking area with a power washer, cleaning up any furniture that you have, and even washing down windows and doors. That way, everything is looking as shiny and new as possible!

Tackle Any Issues

From here, you may then want to work on any issues. You may find that you have different nests in your garden at this stage. Rather than being stressed or trying to tackle the pests or animals yourself, you should call in an expert. This can mean pest control or even handy bee removal services that will relocate them for you, rather than killing them. You may want to call in animal control if you have any nesting birds that you want to protect.

Spruce the Patio or Decking Area

Then you can then turn your attention to your outdoor living space. Once it is clean, you may want to give it a spruce-up, ready for summer. Take a look at some patio or decking ideas for inspiration and get to work. You may need to replace what you have or even consider painting the deck. You could even think about investing in some new outdoor furniture to really make the most of the space come summer.

Bring it to Life

At this point, you are then in the perfect position to be able to really work on the entire space and bring it to life. You may find that you want to add a few decorative finishing touches and accessories to your outdoor living area, or that you want to focus on creating a garden that flourishes. Either way, when you have the bulk of the space looking great, your next task is to ensure that it feels finished. When you have the right plants in place, you can then get out there and enjoy your hard work. Just don’t forget to come up with a maintenance plan so that it continues to look great all year round!
