I love a good mystery and the Paige MacKenzie mysteries are really fun to read! I loved Hutchins Creek Cache (A Paige MacKenzie Mystery) by Deborah Garner and can’t wait to read more in the series.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
Paige MacKenzie heads to the town of Hutchins Creek, Colorado, to research Old West railroad history for The Manhattan Post, with plans to meet up with her favorite cowboy, Jake Norris.
When a mysterious coin from the 1920’s is discovered behind the Hutchins Creek Railroad Museum, Paige starts digging into four generations of Hutchins family history.

“Can’t say enough about this book! Wonderful! Deborah Garner is a wonderful writer! She makes you feel like you are right there with Paige and Jake. I loved the setting of Hutchins Creek and the characters were all great. I was on pins and needles and even shed a tear or two. I can’t wait for more of this series!” Â – review from Goodreads
My Thoughts On Hutchins Creek Cache (A Paige MacKenzie Mystery):
I mentioned above that I love a good mystery novel and that this one was fun to read. I’d previously read Three Silver Doves so I knew that Paige MacKenzie was a fun character and that this would be a good read. Paige and her love interest, Jake, have incredible chemistry. They have humor, love and plenty of romance without overt sexual content. I love that he is really included in this story and plays a big role in the hunt for answers.
Everything is described in detail so you really get an idea of what they are seeing, eating, etc. I felt like I was in Hutchins Creek watching everything take place.
The story started a little slow for me but quickly picked up. I couldn’t wait to find out just who was responsible for the coin. I had an idea of who it might be and who might be part of the scheme. I was only half right so it really kept me guessing!
If you’re looking for a great book to read over Fall break, this is it!
