Are you thinking of going on a road trip and hiring a car for the trip (or maybe even buying one if you have the budget)? Road trips are great fun as you get to see multiple destinations in one trip, and the ultimate flexibility when going away. They are made even more fun when you have a new car to drive – there is an argument to say a road trip should be a must when you have a new car, as it’s a great way to wear it in!

If you aren’t sure what car to look at for your road trip, we totally understand. There are so many different cars on the market, which can make choosing one a little difficult. Do you go for an SUV, as these can be great if you have kids, or do you opt for a sporty car which you can really enjoy driving?

To help get you started, below we have put together a brief guide on three cars that would be fun to drive on a road trip. Keep on reading to discover three cars that we think you would love.

Nissan Sentra

Have you seen a Nissan Sentra before? They are great cars that, if you do use one for your road trip, as you hire, we are sure you will be looking into the 2026 Nissan Sentra for sale to get yourself one after! The latest models are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing around 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque, paired with a smooth CVT transmission that prioritises fuel efficiency and easy cruising. This means the car feels relaxed on motorways and country roads, making it ideal for covering long distances – perfect for a road trip if you ask us.

Porsche 911

If you love cars, then you will love a Porsche 911. It’s every car lover’s dream and would be perfect to take on any holiday. It’s fast, it’s stylish, and most importantly, it’s sporty – everyone will be checking it out as you drive along the motorway. Talking of which, whether you’re cruising along coastal roads or exploring scenic countryside routes, it turns every journey into part of the adventure – which is why it makes sense to enjoy it as part of your road trip.

Range Rover

If you’re looking for a car that combines luxury, comfort and capability, the Range Rover is a fantastic option for a road trip. It’s perfect for couples, solo travellers and families, due to it being considered a very versatile car – celebrities are always driving these! The interior is spacious and refined, with high-quality materials, advanced technology and supportive seating that make even long drives enjoyable. Perfect for a long-distance road trip. These are expensive cars, but even if you can’t afford it now, it should be a bucket list vehicle for you to aspire to one day.
