Coffee Sugar Scrub Inspired By Febreze Home For The Holidays Collection

My mind is reeling with the fact that today is Halloween and that Thanksgiving is just one month away and Christmas just two. Is it just me or has this year absolutely flown by? More so than usual even. I think the older we get, the quicker life seems to go by.

I was at Walmart Monday night looking for some last minute touches for our Halloween costumes. We’re going to a party this year, instead of hosting one. But we always want our costumes to be outstanding. Anyway, there was nothing left! They were already moving everything out to the center aisle and marking it down. I guess everyone in our little town is in the “spirit” of Halloween this year because there were slim pickings in the costume department. But we did find a few things.

The Christmas / Holiday section, on the other hand, was bustling and full of items. If you want to get a head start on Christmas, head to Walmart because they had a ton of stuff, especially things to scent your home. One thing that I love to stock up on during the Holiday’s is Holiday and Seasonal home fragrances. I love the Holiday collection that Febreze is offering this year. You may remember me posting a couple months ago about the Febreze Home Harvest Collection? Well, they have a Home For The Holidays Collection too and you can find it at Walmart.

I received the Febreze Home For The Holidays Collection as a member of SheSpeaks and I am totally loving it. I use the Febreze NOTICEables warmers throughout our home. I even have one in the garage to make it smell fresh. Right now, I have the Apple Tart scent in my NOTICEables warmer in our hallway. It smells amazing and is giving the house a wonderful autumnal fragrance. It smells just like fresh, crisp apples. I notice just a hint of spice. While I love anything cinnamon, I also love just a nice, apple fragrance sometimes and this one is it! It’s not that awful over powering apple and cinnamon you sometimes get. I love it.

In the bathrooms, I have the Vanilla Latte scent. I only use it on the weekends when we are expecting company. It blends really well with the Apple Tart scent. Since we have vents in the bathrooms but no air returns, you only get the vanilla and a slight hint of Apple Tart in there and just the Apple Tart throughout the rest of the house. It makes a really pleasant combination in the bathrooms to help cover any bathroom odors that might linger. Do you like coffee and bakery inspired scents? Those are my favorites.

I have the Frosted Pine scent in our garage. It has a nice, woodsy fragrance. A bit of pine / everrgreen but, again, not overpowering. I think that’s what I love most about the Febreze home fragrances. They have a great amount of scent throw but the fragrances are still mild. They don’t trigger my migraines like other plug in type oil warmers. I can keep them plugged in and scenting my home without fear of a massive headache. Do you switch up your fragrances in different rooms like I do, or do you like to keep one fragrance for the entire house?

The Febreze Holidays Collection also offer Toasted Almond and Sugared Cranberry. Even though these are somewhat winter fragrances, they are also great in the fall. They’ve definitely added a festive touch and some cheer to our home. The aromas haven put me in the best moods!

The kit that I received is awesome! The box, itself, can be used to decorate with and has cute little cut-outs to give it a festive look.

It also includes several Febreze Home For The Holidays Collection inspired activity, home decor and recipe cards to add a little SCENTspiration to your Holiday crafting and decorating.

There are several recipes including Mini Apple Tarts, Cocoa Dusted Almonds, Gingerbread Cookies In A Jar, etc. There are activities you can do with your family like making a Mitten Ornament or Clothespin Reindeer’s. Those would make great ornaments to make with your children! There are also home decor items like Pinecone Wreathes and Sugared Cranberry Garland.

One of my favorite activities in the kid is a coffee sugar scrub recipe. It calls for coffee grounds, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon along with a little vanilla and coconut oil. (recipe below) Not only does this scrub leave your skin smelling Holiday fresh, it also exfoliates and softens. PLUS, you can use it in your kitchen as a hand scrub to remove yucky cooking odors like onion and garlic.

Because it smells so nice, works wonderfully and can be packaged in a pretty air-tight jar, it would make an awesome homemade Christmas gift. I love this Coffee Scrub!
