The kids had their Spring Break last week and we headed to our favorite vacation spot, the Smoky Mountains, and stayed with our favorite cabin rental company, Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals. This time we stayed in one we’ve rented before, Winter Haven.
Disclosure: I received a discount as a thank you for posting about Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals. All opinions are my own.
Winter Haven is one of our favorite cabin rentals that we have stayed in. We actually stayed there back in June 2013 before heading to Country Charm for a few extra days. That was our first cabin hop. It doesn’t have a game room so no pool table or air hockey but the kids don’t mind. It does come with a TV gaming system so the kids still have something fun to look forward to. You have to ask for it at the desk.
It also has a hot tub. And that is my kids (and Clay’s and mine) favorite part. We like to walk the Gatlinburg strip and take small hikes so a hot tub is one thing that we require when we rent a cabin. It feels so good to come home and relax in the hot, bubbly water. It makes those muscles feel wonderful! And everyone sleeps like a log that night after having taken a soak in the hot tub in the enclosed deck. Loads of privacy!
Speaking of decks. Along with the enclosed porch/deck that houses the hot tub and grill, there is a large wrap around deck with a big picnic table, rocking chairs and porch swing. This deck spans the front of the cabin, the right side and the back combining with the enclosed porch. We enjoyed a lot of time out on the deck and porch.
We didn’t see any black bears, this trip to Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals, but we did see plenty of other nature including the most vibrant red headed woodpecker! Actually there were two but the other one flew off before I could grab my camera.
When we weren’t out enjoying nature or the hot tub, we were inside enjoying the fireplace! Winter Haven has an awesome wood burning fireplace. Wood is included as you can see in some of the photos of the deck. It is perfect for roasting marshmallows or making s’mores!
UK played (and won) the Final Four game while we were there so we grilled out, watched the game and enjoyed a fire in the fireplace in the living room that night. The couch in the living room is also a sofa bed. So some of the kids moved the tables and slept there at night. Others slept in the third bedroom that has bunkbeds. I didn’t get any photos of the upstairs rooms for some reason. I could have sworn I had some but I they aren’t on my camera so…
I did get some photos of the main level bedroom though. There is one queen bedroom here and then upstairs there is a king master and a smaller room with a set of bunkbeds. There is also a bathroom and the washer and dryer upstairs.
The queen bedroom on the main level is the one that we took. That log bed is COMFY! And it’s a pretty good sized room too. There is a dresser as well as a chest of drawers, rocking chair and built in desk. So you have plenty of room for all your things.
Please don’t pay any attention to our luggage and stuff in the second photo. This was a VERY last minute trip and we didn’t get there until 2:00 AM so we came in, dropped our things and hit the sack. I was just too tired to try to get photos first. I do make our bed every morning, though, so at least that part was a bit tidy.
If you’re looking for a cabin rental in the Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg area I highly recommend Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals. They have the friendliest staff and warm, comfy, cozy cabins. Oh! And sign up for their newsletter too because they have great discounts and specials throughout the year! They have life long guests with our family. I’m already looking forward to our next stay with Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals!

Hi Tom,
We haven’t been to Winter Haven since our last review but we have stayed with Auntie Belham’s since then. We’ve never had anything but great service with them. If you do stay, let us know how you like Winter Haven!
