Makeup By One Direction Review

My oldest daughter and I love trying out makeup together and we recently tested out some Makeup by One Direction. We loved it! In fact, we've previously reviewed Make Up By One Direction Limited Edition Beauty Collection Tins and the Make Up By One Direction Looks Collection In our latest Make Up By One Direction set we received Electro Glam Mascara, Liquilights Glow Gloss and a Rock Me Nail Kit. I was afraid that this makeup was too "young" for me but the makeup can be applied boldly or subtly. So even though it is more for teens and gals in their 20's, it can definitely work for us over 30 gals as well!

Electro Glam Mascara

Electro Glam Mascara is a heavily pigmented mascara that can be worn on your lashes or in  your hair for a pop of color. Eyelash Mascara- Make a subtle statement by adding a pop of color to the tips of your lashes, or add coats to your entire lashes for a shockingly chic look. The more the better! Hair Mascara- Apply to small sections of hair and swipe through for instant ELECTRIC highlights. We received the following colors: [gn_list icon="icon: star" icon_color="#1E9ABC"]

[/gn_list] I applied the Electro Glam Mascara to my daughters blonde hair tips. It added an awesome pop of color to her tips. The texture was a bit sticky but it dried very quickly and stayed in her hair throughout the day. The color has nice pigmentation and really showed up great in her blonde hair. My hair is darker and the Electro Glam Mascara left subtle streaks unless I applied it heavily, giving me a touch of color for a hip, trendy look. It is a great way to add some temporary highlights to your hair! I used the Chock Of Blue Electro Glam Mascara on the tips of my lashes and it added a really cool, subtle effect over my black mascara. It set off the color of my eyes and made my eye shadow really pop. The Pinkest Hot Pink looked cool on the tips of my lashes too. I think that using it on just the tips makes a really awesome addition to makeup for date night.

Liquilights Glow Gloss

Liquilights Glow Gloss sparkles brilliantly during the day and illuminates under UV black light after dark. It has been enriched with natural oils and vitamin E for hydration. Liquilights Glow Gloss  can be worn alone for a pop of sparkle and color, or paired with One Direction crème lipstick for a bolder look. • Through the Dark- Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light
• Kiss You- Orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light
• Taken - Powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light

[/gn_list] The Liquilights Glow Gloss isn't one of my personal favorites because it is a bit glittery. I don't really like glittery glosses. But my daughter loves it. She loves all the colors but her favorite is "Taken" the neon pink color. It is a little bit sticky but not so much it doesn't feel nice on your lips.

Rock Me Nail Kit

The Rock me Nail Kit features NEON UV-REACTIVE Nail Varnish and UV-REACTIVE GLITTER nail toppings.  You can use the glitter toppings in two ways: sprinkle for a subtle look or dip your entire polished nail in for a bold glittery finish.

[/gn_list] I'm in love with the Rock Me Nail Varnish! I used the "Moments"- UV neon pink and dipped my nail tips in the "Not Afraid"- UV electrified pink glitter. The glittery is very fine and looks just like sugar crystals that you put on cupcakes! I love the effect it gave and the pink color of the polish. The nail varnish does take a bit to dry. It stays fairly tacky for quite a while so make sure you have plenty of time for it to dry before doing anything else. Once dry, it stayed on for several days without chipping or peeling. I really love the nail varnish!
