bobsweep PetHair SLAM Review And Unboxing

Do y’all want to see a bObsweep PetHair Slam review and unboxing? Sure you do!

Do you remember me showing you all a nifty little robotic vacuum a few years ago, called Bob? The brand name is bObsweep and I’d received on in the color “Jasper” (red). It was amazing and I loved Bob dearly. Well, I was recently asked if I’d like to try out a newer version, called bObsweep Bob PetHair SLAM, and I excitedly replied YES! I was more than excited to do a bObsweep PetHair Slam review and unboxing.

Our new Bob, which we lovingly named Darrell Bob, is fantastic and keeps my floors free of dog hair. And cat hair. And ferret hair! Yes, we have a lot of pets. But Darrell Bob keeps all that picked up for me so my house looks and smells nice every day. (as nice as it can smell with a ferret – they have a natural muskiness)

I have an unboxing video below. You can click here to go directly to it.

This little vacuum has quickly become a part of our family and we call him a he and we call him by name. 😂 Hey, he works hard in this household – he deserves to be recognized!

The Bob PetHair SLAM has some great upgrades since the bObsweep we previously had. It has a built in GPS system that can map your room(s) as it sweeps, creating a map where you can choose specific areas to be or not to be swept.

This feature really came in handy during the Holiday season! Our Christmas tree skirt, faux snow blanket and some decorative items were on the floor, where there typically isn’t anything there. I didn’t want those areas to be vacuumed or moved around so I marked the map to avoid those areas.

Darrell Bob went right around them, leaving them untouched, and took care of the rest of the room! It was awesome to be able to set it and forget it until time to empty the bin.

You can also label each area on the map for individual rooms and areas, connect rooms and separate rooms.. I mostly used him in the living room during the Holidays, due to the different furniture placement but have now given him free roam since everything is back in its usual place. It is so handy!

I purposely chose to NOT vacuum for a few days. Because there are 6 people in my family, 2 dogs, a cat and a ferret, there is a ton of hair. Speaking of our ferret, Minerva fell in love with Darrell Bob. 🤣

Anyway, I wanted to really see what Bob could handle. He came through with flying colors! Look at the amount of hair he picked up on the first sweeping.

In case you’re squeamish about hair, I hid the image so you have to click it to see it.

I’m also able to set schedules for Darrel Bob, which in turn keeps my floors looking great! For instance, I have him set to run every night at 11 pm on low power. I also have him set to run on Friday mornings at 8 am on high power (TurboLift™ Vacuum). This way, my floors are nice and clean for the weekend when we have family stopping by.

Both the schedules and mapping feature are controlled using the bObsweep app, available for Android and iOS. So, you’ll need wifi to set it up.

ANOTHER new feature is the ability to wet mop hard floors with a water attachment! Previously, you could dry mop or spritz the pad but, now, the dust bin can be switched to a bin that holds water and has a mopping pad on the bottom. Darrell Bob can go around my kitchen, bathroom and laundry room floors giving a quick wet mop to help keep the floors dust and dirt free.

I have him do that a couple days a week and then on Fridays, I do a full mopping with my regular steam mop. It really does make a difference just having that quick wet mop a couple times per week. The mop pad is washable (it comes with 2) so it takes the place of those disposable pads that go in the trash after one use. I LOVE that these are reusable!

I will post another article and video showing just the wet mop feature. I didn’t want this to get too long so I left that out intentionally.

I have noticed a huge difference in the air quality of our home as well. Since it is being vacuumed every day, there isn’t as much hair everywhere. Our air purifier is showing better numbers and there is less sneezing taking place. Because, face it, I am NOT going to run my big vacuum every day. I just don’t have time (or the desire) to do so. Darrell Bob does that job for me! WOOT!

What are some cleaning tips you have for me? Do you have a robotic vacuum?
