“The way Ms. Green weaves romance into this fascinating situation of rift travel and the amazing settings along the way, is delightful. I appreciate how the various story aspects are artfully combined to make my introduction to “rifting” purely satisfying. I’m SO ready for the next one.” – review from Amazon

“Yet another good book by Diana Green. I love how you went a little Sci-fi with the portals and alternate worlds mixed in.” – review from Amazon

“The plot moves at a steady pace and grabs you in right from the start.” – review from Goodreads

My Thoughts About Bronze Fox by Diana Green (Rifters Book 1)

I love that this book takes magic, shape-shifting, gadgets and mystery and combines it into a London-esque inter-world fantasy. At first, I thought it was just going to be a post-apocalyptic/steam punk type story. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is so much more!

Diana Green has created a fantasy that captures your attention from the first page. The inter-world travel is reminiscent of Stargate as afar as rifts connecting the worlds. It reminded me of it but wasn’t a copy and had plenty of some twists and turns thrown in. The language makes me think of old world England. The scenery and clothing are described well. I love how Tobias and Etty interact with each other. It was gret how each were introduced to the other. It wasn’t your typical guy meats gal introduction and their friendship wasn’t forced. It came about naturally.  There is action and danger and flirtation. We are introduced to other characters along the way that influence the story without it being confusing or taking away from Tobias and Etty’s story.

Without giving too much away and being a major spoiler alert, I can honestly say that I love the mystery, the plot and the pace. It doesn’t move too fast and then just leave you hanging at the end. This story moves along nicely and while it leaves you wanting more… the first book is wrapped up perfectly. This is book one and I can’t wait to read the rest!
