I have the most unique gift idea ever! Himalayan Salt Tequila Shot Glasses! You may be asking yourself what these are. Well, they are exactly what they sound like: salt glasses made from Himalayan Pink Salt. And they don’t make your drink salty, either. Plus, they can be used for more than just alcohol!

I saw these unique shot glasses, recently, and just has to test them out. So I teamed up with The Spice Lab to receive a set and couldn’t be happier.

These Himalayan Salt Tequila Shooters are made from 100% pure Himalayan salt hand-mined in the Himalayan Mountains from salt beds formed in the Jurassic era. How cool is that?

The pink color is from the 84 natural minerals embedded in
the stone. You may already know how much of a fan I am of Himalyan Pink Salt. It is the ONLY salt I cook with. It doesn’t raise my blood pressure and it adds much needed minerals to our diet. I also use salt lamps in my home to help purify and detox the air. Not to mention, their just downright beautiful to look at.

My birthday is later in August and my absolute, favorite alcohol is Patrón Silver tequila. I don’t drink often, but when I do, that is what I like. It is smooth and only needs a little salt and lime to be enjoyed. So, when Clay saw the Himalyan salt glasses, he decided to surprise me with a bottle for my birthday! He gave me my present early so we tested it out one evening. These shot glasses, along with some lime wedges, tortilla chips and salsa made it absolutely perfect! If we decide to have a couple folks over for my birthday (haven’t decided yet due to ‘Rona) we’ll definitely be serving this up again!

I mentioned they can be used for more than alcohol. These glasses are 3″ tall and hold approx. 1.5 oz. They have a patented liner that keeps too much salt from leaching into your drink (or food) so they are perfect for, not only tequila, but gazpacho, shrimp cocktail and other cold-served soup and beverages. Tomato juice or Margarita Bombs and Bloody Mary Bombs (recipes coming soon) would be amazing in these Himalayan salt shot glasses!

When you take your drink, you get a bit of the salt flavor from the rim of the glass, like a rimmed Margarita. But, because of the patented liner, you only get that salt. It doesn’t fill your drink or food with salt.

Clean-up is very easy as well. Himalayan salt is naturally anti-bacterial, so all you have to do is wipe them down with a damp cloth. I do wipe the liner inside with a soap dish cloth, then rinse. I don’t submerge the glasses in water.

The packaging for the gift set is gorgeous! It uses a Mexican Art motif to salute the country that produces tequila. The skull is prevalent in Mexican art and an important symbol of death and rebirth. The culture celebrates Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) each November 1st and skulls and skeletons have been colorfully depicted in Mexican art since the days of the Aztecs.
