Pencil Nose: Family Game Night Is Hilarious With This Drawing Game

My family and I love hosting family game night on Friday or Saturday nights. We like to get pizza or make tacos, kick back and enjoy a good game. I love “oldies but goodies” but I also love to try something new every other week or so. One such new game is called Pencil Nose. It is a hilarious drawing game that has you drawing pictures with a dry erase marker on your nose!

We teamed up with the folks at Fat Brain Toys to show you some fun indoor and outdoor gift ideas for kids. We received some complimentary goodies as a thank you and to help give you details of each. All opinions are our own and were formed through personal use. Your results may vary from ours.

The game is simple to play. You have two sets of glasses that hold the “pencil” which is a dry erase marker. You break off into 2 teams. Each team draws a card with their 6 items and then takes a turn drawing items on the screen while their teammates try to guess what you’re drawing, before the time runs out.

After both teams have taken a turn drawing and guessing, you tally how may each team got correct. The team with the most correct answers gets a point. The first team to 7 points wins.

Let me tell you, some of the items are hard to draw, especially with your nose! I had to draw the action of “jogging”, a moose, wind and more. Some are easy like a kite but some will really keep your teammates guessing!

The Pencil Nose game kit comes with the following:

  • 2 pair of glasses
  • 2 markers
  • 1 eraser
  • Timer
  • 1 screen to draw on
  • Pack of game cards with list to draw

We like to shake things up a bit when on family game night, when we’re playing games. We always play a round following the rules, then we change it up and add some challenges!

For Pencil Nose, we played the first round according to the instructions. The second time we had each losing round team take a drink of an odd flavored soda, like Pickle Juice, Bacon or Ranch. Sometimes we use gross flavored jelly beans or hot chips but this time, we used the sodas. It really gives an incentive to guess the answers!

My family and I have so much fun playing this game. We’ve played it several times since we received it and can’t wait to play it again. This game is going in our travel game bag for playing on vacation as well!
