New Year Cleaning Resolution Tips #Liquidmuscle @RealMrClean #ad

This New Year cleaning resolution tips post is brought to you by Mr. Clean as part of a Type-A Parent Community Sponsored Post.

As we talked about the other day, now is the time of year for creating brand new resolutions for the new year. Some of the resolutions I, personally, create revolve around cleaning and organization of our home. I feel like as much as I clean it should be spotless but it gets really nasty in the winter months with snow and rain causing mud and dirt to be tracked in. Not to mention all the colds, flu and stomach bugs that are making their rounds right now. My kitchen and bathroom counters get lots of scrubbing! I tend to do a lot of my heavier cleaning in the winter. I heard a couple of tips at a Twitter party today that I’d like to share with you.

  1. Make specific resolutions, not broad ideas.
  2. Create short term resolutions throughout the year.

Both of these ideas work really well for me in both my cleaning and my organization resolutions. For the first one, I am focusing on one spot in my home to get organized and do a thorough cleaning on. For instance, my linen closet. Then my laundry area and our bedroom closets. Our linen closest is home to cleaning products, personal care stock pile items and bath towels. So having an organized system is a must. Keeping it neat and tidy is also a must.

We don’t have room dedicated specifically to laundry. Our washer and dryer are housed in the main bathroom. Which I hate. Seriously, I want a laundry room that is for laundry only! But for now, I have to make what we have work. I have some cleaning supplies in this room along with all my laundry care. Our closets are such a mess, though, and we have very little storage so it tends to pile up on top of the dryer for a couple of days until I can get it all sorted by each child, Clay and myself.

So, I have three main areas that I’m tackling first. And all three of these areas will go a long way in getting my entire house clean and organized. I’m starting with the linen closet first, then we’re clearing out the bedroom closets and getting rid of old clothes and shoes. Then we’ll all be able to put our clothes where they belong and I can get in the bathroom and organize the shelf above the washer and dryer, clean the floor around them really well with my Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle Multi-Purpose cleaner and be happy as a lark!

These tips will also work really well with my weight loss resolutions and any other tasks I set out to complete this year. I can set short two week weight loss goals and once I accomplish the two weeks, move on to another 2 weeks.

It will work with organizing my blog and email inbox too. The possibilities are endless!
