That was the quick and easy description of this really cool cleaner. There is a more scientific explanation on how it works below. But, for me, the quick and easy is all I need to know.

Making Force Of Nature Spray

To create a spray bottle full, you just add distilled water to the fill line, squeeze in a capsule of their solution, made of salt and vinegar, plug the unit in and let it do it’s thing for about 10 minutes. You will see it bubbling while it’s working. (see the video above) When the lights on the bottom turn from blue to green, it’s ready to use. Unplug the unit, pour it into a spray bottle and you’re good to go!

After you pour the cleaning solution into your spray bottle, rinse the unit and plug it back in. Then push the power button twice rapidly, and it will set a countdown for 14 days. The lights will be green. Every 2 days, a green light will go out. After 14 days, all the lights will turn red and your cleaning solution will expire. You’ll then need to make a new bottle.

I don’t have any way to check my surfaces to ensure there is no bacteria or that it is actually disinfecting, so I can’t attest to that but I can say my surfaces look and smell cleaner without using harsh chemicals . I can also tell you that one of my daughters had strep throat a few weeks ago along with a nasty upper respiratory infection that Clay and another of our daughters had and it did NOT spread to the rest of the family like those things typically do in our home. The only difference we made was using the Force Of Nature cleaner on every surface during that time.

I sprayed door knobs and light switches with it. I cleaned the sinks, toilets, showers, etc. I even sprayed and disinfected our toothbrushes (it’s safe to use)! And the strep didn’t spread. And neither did that awful cold. And, trust me, that was a nasty one. (not the C but pretty bad still) So, in my personal opinion, it worked!

How to properly clean and disinfect:

Many folks think you can just spray and wipe surfaces and be done with it but that isn’t so. Did you know that it takes disinfectants up to 10 minutes to kill the bacteria and germs that are living on surfaces?

You have to spray a cleaner and wipe the surface to get any surface dirt off, but you also need to then spray the surface and let the cleaner (any cleaner you’d use) sit until it dries. While it is drying, it is killing the bacteria, viruses and germs. Then, if it dries before 10 minutes, give it another spray and let it dry again. Your surface will be disinfected and sanitized. Then, you can wipe it again if you want.

Force Of Nature Cleanser

I like to use the same cleaner for both wiping and disinfecting. Especially Force Of Nature because I am cleaning without harsh chemicals, yet, still getting rid of the yuck. For daily cleaning, I use a microfiber cloth that can be tossed in the washer and reused, along with the cleaner. The one I use is actually a makeup remover cloth. It works great!

How Does It Smell?

When the salt, water and vinegar are hydrolyzed in the unit, it creates Hypochlorous Acid and Sodium Hydroxide (lye – I use this when making handcrafted soap). It smells very slightly like a heavily diluted chlorine/bleach, but it’s NOT bleach; it has a different chemical composition than bleach (sodium hypochlorite). The formula for sodium hypochlorite is NaOCl and the formula for hypochlorous acid is HOCl. Hypochlorous acid is the same substance your white blood cells produce to fight infection.  As for the smell? Think about the way a clean swimming pool smells. Barely there.

The scent is naturally created when salt, water & vinegar are electrolyzed. Hypochlorous acid, the antimicrobial ingredient in Force of Nature, is a type of chlorine (hence the pool scent). Many people don’t know that there are different types of chlorine. Hypochlorous acid is actually the same substance your immune system produces to fight infection. And because it’s so gentle, it’s commonly used in wound healing, eye care & veterinary care products.
