Goodbye Grey, Make The Color Stay!

I’ve had enough! Enough of the grey hair that is. I decided to have myself a hot date with some hair dye this morning and get rid of my grey temples and crown. My temples had gotten horribly grey and I was starting to get that “skunk line”. Only it was grey and not white. But still.

I usually dye my hair pretty regularly but it always fades out quickly that it almost doesn’t feel worth it. So I hadn’t colored it recently. I just didn’t feel like putting the time and effort into something that wouldn’t last. I hate short term relationships!

But I found a NEW shampoo and conditioner, available at Sam’s Club, that is supposed to help provide color protection for up to six weeks. It’s called Pantene Platinum Color Lock shampoo & conditioner. Color-treating hair leaves it weak and prone to damage, but the antioxidants in this system work from the hair’s core to help protect against fade-causing damage and protect color, all while providing a soft, radiant shine. With Nutri-Lock technology, this system works from the hair’s core to help provide color protection for up to six weeks (shampoo and conditioner system vs. non-conditioning shampoo).

I happen to adore Pantene shampoo and conditioner so I am most definitely willing to give it a try! When I go without coloring my hair I just feel down. The grey is depressing. Dull hair can ruin a cute outfit and make you feel so self conscious, especially if people feel the need to point it out, like you don’t already know it’s there. And it just really makes me feel good to have fresh, vibrant hair. I like the way my hair looks with new color on it. I love highlights. I love all over brown. I just love having colored hair. But, like I said, I get tired of it fading fast. It was time for a change though. Past time, really.

 

I colored my hair this morning and will begin using the shampoo and conditioner system tomorrow. I will use it for 6 weeks and see how my color looks. I took a before photo and I’ll post another after 6 weeks so you can see how well it worked.

I mentioned that I adore Pantene. It smells phenomenal. I love using shower products that smell great. They can take a boring shower and make it an escape to start or finish your day with a smile. Aromatherapy at its finest! Aside from making your shower great, a couple of basic tips I have for helping your hair color last longer and keeping your hair shiny are:

  • Use products specifically designed for color treated hair, like Pantene Platinum Color Lock.
  • Wash it every other day instead of every day, although, Platinum Color Lock shampoo and conditioner may be used every day.
  • Use heat protecting products when flat ironing, blow drying or curling your hair.
  • Towel dry it instead of blow drying in the summer to avoid heat damage and keep it shiny.
  • Always use a conditioner. I use it at least on the ends or from halfway down the hair shaft to avoid oily roots.

Those tips will help your hair color stay vibrant, longer.

  22. I would love to win and go to Sams and pick up some of the Pantene Platinum Color Lock! My grays are coming in fast and fierce! I do color, but the color never lasts until the next time I am able to color. I would love to try this Color Lock and see if it will help extend my color a bit longer
