Disclosure: I received a complimentary pair of Heat Holders Thermal Socks for review purposes. All opinions are my own and/or those of my husband and family members facilitating this review.
Heat Holders Thermal Socks have been a blessing in this cold, nasty weather, although, I have a bit of a Catch 22 situation. On one hand, I’m having hot flashes like crazy. I go from freezing to death to wanting to jump in an ice bath and party like it’s July. Most likely because I’m fat slightly jiggly. And hormonal. Jiggles and hormones will do that to you, ya know? I’m just saying. On the other hand, my feet literally FREEZE all winter if I don’t have big thick socks on them. Sometimes two pairs. Just ask Clay. Snuggling my frozie-toesies on him under the covers usually warms them right up! Then I get all hot and throw all the covers on top of him with the exception of my feet, which I keep covered up no matter how hot the rest of me is, because they are ice cubes. (sorry honey) So I’m having night sweats and frigid feet. I’m a mess.
Except now, I don’t have frigid feet. And my handsome hubby, Clay, who works outside in ungodly temperatures doesn’t have frigid feet either (or my cold ones on him in the bed). Because we’ve been trying out this pair of totally awesome thermal socks called Heat Holders.
They are like soft, thermal clouds upon my frightfully cold feet. In other words, they’re warm and cozy. And they are very, very thick and soft. Just look at the lining.
Heat Holders boast a TOG Rating of 2.3 making them 7x warmer than a basic cotton sock. 7 TIMES WARMER! Yay for my tootsies!
What is a TOG Rating?
A combination of a long looped thermal pile with an intense brushing maximizes the amount of warm air that is held inside the sock. And that makes your feet warmer, longer. Clay was worried about them causing his feet to sweat. The fibers in the socks are said to be able to wick away moisture.
But does it work?
Well, for us the answer is yes and no. Inside the house, my feet did feel overly warm and sweaty at times. But when I removed the sock, my feet were completely dry. So they felt sweaty inside the sock but they actually weren’t. For Clay, being outside in the freezing cold, cutting pipe and installing fire protection systems, his feet stayed warm. And dry. No sweating. Only warm feet. And because they are so thick and cushy, they offer comfort when standing on your feet all day.
We have the original length which comes to mid calf on me. I’d personally prefer the long style because I wear boots in the winter and Clay wears work boots. But these are still great. They are also available in slipper length and children’s. I just saw some on the site that are pink stripes! LOVE! <3
So in our opinions, these socks are perfect for keeping your feet warm in really cold weather. They are perfect for lounging around the house. They are so soft and fluffy they almost rival my slippers. So I wear them together! OH! And I can go Christmas caroling this year and my feet will stay warm!
The only problem we have is that currently, we only have one pair and when Clay needs them, I have to do without. 🙁
But at prices starting at $19.99 and the fact that they come in many, many colors and styles… I’ll just buy myself a pair of Heat Holders Thermal Socks and we’ll both be happy! I’m pretty sure I saw some with pink stripes. I’m heading back over to their site to have another look.
