I think I have the messiest family on the planet, myself included. If there is something around to cause a stain you can bet your sweet Fanny we’re gonna find it! I try to eat like a lady: dainty bite sizes, no slurping… etc. But food always manages to find its way onto my shirt. Clay is the same way. Add to that the fact that I have a household of little country redneck kids who love to run around barefoot OR in their sock feet (grass and dirt stains – on Easter Sunday – uugh). They also like to play in the dirt, mud puddles, with the dog, etc. They’re messy little buggers, but I love them.
The Purex® brand provided me with a sample of Purex® plus Clorox 2® detergent in exchange for a product review. However all the opinions expressed here are my own
Needless to say, laundry days make me cringe. I never know what stain is going to come my way. On Easter Sunday we went to a friends house for dinner. They have a farm and our oldest daughter decided to kick her boots off and hunt eggs in the damp grass in her white socks. WHY?
During the course of the meal, Clay dropped ranch dressing on his shirt. I spilled sweet tea on mine. The little kids got grass stains on their knees and dirt on their backsides. We were a lovely mess by the time we made it home. It was a fun day, though. And I had a new laundry detergent to try so I wasn’t too worried about the stains this time.
I love Purex. It is my #1 laundry detergent and I’ve written about it many, many times. The new version is Purex Plus Clorox 2 so it has some extra stain fighting power behind it that is safe for colors. I decided to try it out and put it to the test with our Easter dinner stains.
Ranch dressing is a nasty, greasy beast to try to remove from clothing. I didn’t really have high hopes because I’ve never been able to get it out in the past.
I soaked the stain with a little of the detergent and let it sit for about 5 minutes, then washed it with the Purex plus Clorox 2 and there was still a slight hint of a stain. I washed it once more and it came out! The stain is gone!!!
Here is a photo of our before and after using Purex Plus Clorox 2:
I’m really impressed with this new Purex! It did take two washing for the salad dressing stain to come out but the point is that it came out. Purex plus Clorox 2 is safe for colors and does not contain chlorine bleach. It removes stains while getting your clothes clean. That’s a win-win to me!
