  • Movies

You don’t have to go to a theater to enjoy the theater experience. You may be a parent that picks up DVD’s when they are on sale and put them up just for such an occasion. If you are not, you can always find movies for rent on your various television programs.

There is no such thing as a movie without popcorn and those great boxes of our favorite candy. You can throw a bag of popcorn in the microwave and enjoy the night!

  • Game night

What’s more fun than the game night? Invite your friends over or have a fun night with your family playing video games.

  • Plant an herb garden

Herbs grow very well indoors. All you need is seeds, small clay pots, soil, and water. Plant your seeds and place the pots in a sunny window.

As you are making your garden, get to know what each seed is and what it is used for. Doing this with your family is so much more fun.

  • Crafts
    • Gather up your supplies to make crafts. Again, this is something you should buy in advance and be prepared.
    • Build a birdhouse
    • Make a pinecone bird feeder
    • Build model cars
    • Make DIY Playdough
  • Table Tennis

Paddles, net, and ping-pong balls are easily found in most dollar stores. This is a great game to keep in your winter cabinet.

  • Darts

If you have a dartboard with magnetic tipped darts, you are ready for some competition. If you do not have a dartboard, use baggies with dried beans or rice in them. Chock a few score lines and assign points to each section. Determine how many tosses the kids get and keep score to determine a winner

  •  Cards or board games

Dungeons and dragons? Monopoly? Find some awesome ideas and board games and gather up for a game night with your friends or family. Game night supplies from D20 Collective are an awesome way to enhance your game night experience.

  •  Bundle up and get outside

Try for a moment to remember what it was like to be a kid. Think about walking in the rain and splashing in puddles. Remember building a snowman or riding down the hill in your sled. Bundle up and go outside and play for a while. Who knows, you may end up having as much fun as when you did when you were a kid.

There are going to be weekends when the cold wind is blowing, and you have no intention to go out but still want to have fun. By planning ahead and collecting what you need for a rainy day, you can be occupied and happy.
