Disclosure: I received a complimentary DECK Wireless Speaker to facilitate my review. All opinions are strictly my own.
I had originally planned to post about this awesome DECK Wireless Speaker by SolRepublic as a “Back To School” party post. And many folks are still in the back to school phase so it still works. But here in Kentucky, we’ve been back to school for over a month. The temperatures have cooled and the leaves are beginning to change. So I thought I’d share with you an awesome way to amp up your fall bonfires and parties.
Introducing the Motorola DECK Wireless Speaker by SolRepublic. What is it exactly?
This isn’t just any ordinary speaker. It is a wireless BLUETOOTH speaker that can be paired with, up to, 5 devices at one time. When you set your DECK speaker to “Heist Mode” you and your friends can take turns playing the music in your devices playlist. *NOTE: During Heist Mode, phone calling features are not available. All you and your friends have to do is hit play. When one song ends, whoever has hit play on their device will be able to play their song(s). So if your own playlist is limited, the party music doesn’t have to end. As long as your guests have bluetooth enables devices like smartphones, tablets, ipods, etc, you can let everyone take turns have tons of different songs playing at your party.
But what if I don’t have a Bluetooth enabled device?
No problem folks! If you have a standard mp3 player you can still use your DECK Wireless Speaker. There is an included 5mm audio cable that you can insert from your devices headphone jack into the DECK speaker. It will play through the speaker just as it would your headphones. When you are using your DECK in single mode (versus Heist Mode) you can still make and receive calls as usual. You can even use the DECK speaker as a speakerphone! Bluetooth capability is disabled when using the 5mm cable.
We recently used our DECK Wireless Speaker at a fall bonfire we were hosting. Let me tell you, that thing gets LOUD! We have a few houses near us so I didn’t want to go too loud with it. But if we lived on a farm, I would have cranked that sucker up LOUD and rocked out! But I was polite to our neighbors and only had it loud enough to enjoy. When the fire was roaring and the marshmallows were toasting, the music was rocking!
There are a couple of ways to adjust the volume. One is by changing it directly on your phone or mp3 player with the music players volume controls. For me, this is the easiest way because you don’t have to be right beside the speaker. And in Heist Mode everyone can control their own volume. The other way is to use the volume up and down buttons on the DECK itself. It makes a really loud beep sound, though, and disrupts the music so I prefer to not use the built in volume control.
To charge your device, there is an included USB cable and AC adapter. You can simply plug it into the wall or remove the ac adapter and plug the USB end into a USB port. It charges very quickly and in our testing has held a charge for over 2 hours of use.

I love the Traks Air headphones in white. I think having wireless headphones would be great, especially in the colder weather now that I’ll be wearing a lot of scarves and the wire usually is a huge pain.
I really like the Tracks Air headphones in gunmetal
