I’ve been suffering with dry, scaly, eczema on my left knee for years. I’ve tried just about every natural eczema remedy I could think of. I know I could get a cream from my dermatologist but I favor natural, plant-based remedies first. The latest product I’ve tried is the Eczema Calm line from Kamedis.
I teamed up with Kamedis because their products are botanical based. I love that I can try out samples of something made from botanicals and share my results with you.
There are a few different lines including:
- Clear Line
- Acne spot Treatment
- Acne face cleanser
- Acne face moisturizer
- Acne Kit
- Calm Line
- Eczema Therapy Cream
- Eczema Therapy Wash
- Calming Lotion
- Control Line
- Dandruff Therapy Shampoo
- Scalp Lotion
Those are just a few of the things offered and I tried the calm line.
It includes a wash that I use in the evenings before applying the cream. I like to use this before bed so that it’s not getting rubbed off while I move around. The wash is a gentle foaming cleanser. It is clear and looks like a gel. With a little warm water it gently foams and then rinses easily. No burning or stinging. Just an immediate calming.
The wash is made with Botanical Rhubarb and includes things like Soapberry and Purslane.
The Therapy Cream is what I apply right after using the wash. It is also made with Botanical Rhubarb and includes things like Great Burnet, Tree of Heaven, Baikal Skullcap, Cnidium Fruit and Licorice. I admit, Licorice and Rhubarb are the only things out of that list I’d ever heard of!
I am so in love with this cream! It is thick but rubs in immediately. As I’m rubbing it in, I start to notice a light, cooling feeling. Not a burning or tingling feeling, just a cool, refreshing feeling. It immediately calms the itching and burning of my eczema.
During the day, if I’m having a bad flare and start to have itching and burning, I use the Calming Lotion. This isn’t something that I use every day. I save it for more of a break-through treatment to calm the intense stinging. It has many of the same things as the Therapy Cream.
I’ve only been using this for 2 weeks and I was in the middle of a pretty bad flare. Clay and I have both cut out sugar and processed foods since following Trim Healthy Mama and my skin has been detoxing a lot of nasty stuff even after 3 – 4 months! There is so much sugar in things we buy that it is so hard to totally eliminate it. More than 4 g of sugar in anything sends me back into detox so I’ve been really limiting things. So my eczema on my knee has been pretty bad. The worst so far. I flared about a week after quitting sugar and is only just now starting to ease. Kamedis has really helped with the suffering.
I can’t tell that the Kamedis has *healed* the entire knee. I do notice that the really rough spot that constantly burned is healing. And when I apply the cream, the skin there is super soft for hours. So I think it is working and that given a few more weeks there will be more improvement.
Have you ever used Kamedis products? What are some tips you have for eczema sufferers?
