Did you know there is a new Y’OUR Makeup line available? There is! I have been a long time fan of Y’OUR skincare products for a long time. Before our finances took a bit of a hit, I was using a personalized skincare kit that I adored. It was tailored to my individual skincare needs and worked really well for me.
Unfortunately, I needed to reduce expenses and several subscriptions were one of the first things I purged from the budget. I want to re-subscribe though! Now that my skin has changed, I’ll need to re-take my quiz when I subscribe again. Until then, though, Y’OUR has some fantastic new makeup products that I wanted to share with you! They have a Makeup Remover, Finishing Powder and Primer. Ooooh yeah!
My 40+ year old skin definitely needs a primer and finishing powder to keep my makeup from settling into my fine lines and large pores and to keep the makeup from sliding off during the day. These work great!
The primer has an incredibly velvety feeling. When I first applied it I was worried it would be greasy. After about 30 seconds, it had settled and absorbed somewhat leaving that velvety feeling behind. My makeup went on perfectly and didn’t settle into creases or fine lines.
I was also worried it would be shimmery because it looks that way in the bottle. It’s not. It dries down matte!
The finishing powder can be used to control oil sheen and to set your makeup. I use the included puff in my t-zone to diminish oil. I’m very oily in that area now, I think due to medications. The powder helps!
After that, I use a Kabuki brush to apply the powder to my entire face and neck to set my makeup in place. Then I’m done!
Since I’ve been trying out the new Y’OUR Makeup line, I’ve altered my makeup routine a tad. Here’s the steps I’ve been taking each morning and night:
Daily Morning Makeup Routine:
- Wash face with warm WATER on a washcloth. That’s it, just warm water. It works well for me
- Apply my DIY Frankincense serum
- Apply sunscreen moisturizer
- Apply Y’OUR primer
- Next I apply my foundation. I’m using a homemade powdered cream foundation that I customized to my tint
- After my foundation, I apply a little blush
- Next I do my eyeliner and mascara. Most days I don’t wear eyeshadow so I only do that and more eyeliner if I’m going out and wearing my contacts. I typically wear glasses on regular work days.
- After that I apply the Y’OUR finishing powder to mattify the look and set my makeup in place.
Nighttime Makeup Removal / Skincare Routine
- Use Y’OUR Makeup Remover to remove makeup from my face and eyes
- Wash my face with sweet almond oil on a cotton swab
- Follow with warm water on a washcloth
- Next I use my NIRA lasers and follow up with NIRA Hyaluronic Acid
- Then I apply a thicker, nighttime moisturizer that I made
This process leaves my face nice and clean and hydrated which allows my makeup to go on smoother, look better and last longer throughout the day. I’m happy with this new, current routine! If my skin goes through another change like it did with my recent medicine changes, I’ll simply tweak my routine again.
I love having products in my skincare and beauty arsenal that can be tweaked as needed and allow my skin to look its best.
Y’OUR Makeup Products
Y’OUR Primer: silicone-based primer glides on effortlessly, creating a seamless and refined finish as it blurs imperfections, reduces the appearance of fine lines, pores, and wrinkles. It absorbs excess oil. Vitamin C and E work together to brighten dark spots and overall skin tone, and stimulate collagen production.
- DIRECTIONS: Apply a thin, even amount to moisturized skin prior to makeup application and allow to set for 30 seconds before applying foundation.
Y’OUR Finishing Powder: finely-milled powder noticeably diffuses the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is non-comedogenic. Absorbs excess oil.
- DIRECTIONS: With the provided powdered puff, gently tap on areas that require oil control. For setting your makeup, you can also use a fluffy brush.
Y’OUR Makeup Remover: micellar water and natural ingredients that work to dissolve sunscreen and makeup, even on the sensitive eye area. Contains Aloe, Green Tea, Coffee and Pomegranate Extracts. Fragrance-free, dye-free, and most importantly, irritation-free. Safe for skin, lids, lashes and lip.
- DIRECTIONS: Saturate a cotton pad and gently swipe over skin to dissolve makeup, sunscreen and mascara.
Each product is fragrance free and gentle on my skin. They are easily purchased on Amazon and, with Prime shipping, I feel they are something I can keep in my skincare stash.
