Herbishh Hair Color Shampoo: Changing Up My Look For Fall

I just used Herbishh Hair Color Shampoo to dye my hair and it was super easy!

Since I’ve been feeling bad the last year, I’ve not really felt like doing a ton to my hair or in my skincare routine. In fact, I recently had one of my daughters cut it off short! I typically keep it a blonde shade, varying from light in the spring and summer to darker in the fall and winter. I’ve been in the mood to change up my look and fall is the perfect time to do so! I know, it’s not technically fall yet. But I’m SOOO over summer and ready for colorful leaves and cooler weather. Bring on all things apple and pumpkin and bonfire and s’mores! I’m ready!

Herbishh sent me a bottle to try in the color Linen and I am thrilled with the results!

Herbishh Hair Color Shampoo is a vegan, plant based hair color. It comes in a huge bottle that can be used more than once! Unlike other at-home hair dye, you don’t mix the bottle for a one-time use. Instead, the creams are in 2 separate chambers that you mix in your hand when you pump it out. So, I can color my hair today and touch up any spots I may have missed tomorrow, if I choose! I did actually miss one section on my temples that is a pain to color (grey). So I’ll pull my hair up tomorrow, and just touch up that area.

Before applying the Herbishh Hair Color Shampoo, I used their Dye Shield around my hairline and ears to protect against skin staining. It is a clear gel with no smell that you just rub on. It rinses off easily when you’re rinsing the hair color off.

TIP #1: use a clarifying shampoo on your hair 3 – 4 shampoos before you’re ready to color your hair. Then color your hair the next day after one night’s sleep. This will remove your hair of any product buildup, excess oils and residue but will allow one night for some natural oils to get back in your hair and prevent drying. Brush it well before you color it to spread the natural oils throughout your hair.

To use this hair color, you just add it to your hair, like shampoo and let it set anywhere from 10 – 35 minutes depending on how tough your hair is to color, depth of shade you want, etc. I have really stubborn great hair so I set my timer for 30 minutes. It takes me a few minutes to get undressed and in the shower + getting the water the right temperature, so that makes up another few minutes for a total of about 35 minutes.

I rinsed in lukewarm water then applied the Argan Oil Hair Mask that was also included but I forgot to take picture of it! It is a packet. If you have long hair it will be one use. For my short hair, it only took about 1/3 – 1/2 of the packet so I can save it to use when I do a root touch up. I do kind of wish it came in a bottle instead of a packet.

I left that in for about 2 minutes then rinsed in lukewarm water.

TIP #2: after rinsing in lukewarm water, I followed by dipping my hair into cold water to shrink the cuticles and lock in moisture and shine. I do this after each shampoo as well!

TIP #3: I wash my hair every other day to protect it from drying out and to keep my hair color from fading as quickly. I have oily hair so every other day is perfect for me!

BONUS TIP: Use the Dye Shield to protect your skin from staining!

This hair color shampoo was so easy to use. It wasn’t runny and didn’t drip. I just pumped some into my hands, rubbed them together to mix and disperse and then applied it to my hair. In my video, you can see that I work from the bottom up. I felt bad that day and, since my hair was already pulled up in clips to apply the dye shield, I just unclipped and worked from the bottom up.

Usually, I’ll section my hair into 4 sections and work on one section at a time, paying close attention to the hairline, temples, etc. and thoroughly saturating all my hair. It looks a bit sloppy in the video, but I went back off-camera and made sure everything was covered well.

I love the results! The linen color is sort of a dark ash blonde. It covered well and I don’t see any spots or missed areas. It is soft, silky and shiny!

Herbishh Hair Color Shampoo smelled really good too! It was almost like a mix of berry and honeydew melon. The Argan Oil Mask had a fresh, clean scent like ocean breeze. My hair smelled so good after coloring!

For the price, you get a ton of product that works really well and can be used on more than one occasion. It is definitely worth the cost!

Have you ever used Herbishh? If so, what shade do you use?
