Disclosure: I received a complimentary nightly stay as a thank you for sharing our thoughts about Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals – Mulberry place. All opinions are strictly our own.

We went to Gatlinburg last week for our Spring trip. After 5 nights staying in our Gatlinburg Cabin, Mulberry Place, I was NOT ready to come home. It seems like the more we go the longer I want to stay. Sometimes I think we should just move there but then I wonder if that would take away some of the excitement and love of the area? Some of the “magic“? I don’t know. But I do know that I’m relaxed and in the best mood while we’re there and immediately ready to go back when we come home.

I’ve mentioned before that when we stay in Gatlinburg we always rent a cabin versus a motel. For us, a cabin rental is the way to go. There are 6 of us along with any extended family and friends that go. So being able to rent something that fits us all is a must. Plus we can fix our own meals, have private bathrooms, comfy beds, a hot tub and sometimes games and other amenities. Cabins work so well for family vacations.

Mulberry Place was a great place to stay. We have our dog, Jasper, now, so we needed a place that would not only fit the 8 of us that were going, but that was pet friendly as well. Mulberry Place through Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals is just that place.

This cabin has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 8 people. The beds were all super comfy. There is a king bed on the main level and then two rooms and a bath upstairs. One room has a queen bed and the other has a full sized bed. There was one odd thing in the upstairs and that was that the ceiling was open. The bathroom separated the two rooms and it is completely closed in but the ceiling above that was open so we could see the light from guests staying in that room and could hear each other talking like we were in the same room. It’s kind of hard to explain. It’s sort of like the bathroom ceiling creates a loft between the two rooms.  I would suggest putting the kids or one family in the upstairs. It’s perfect for the kids! Clay and I took one room up there and our kids took the other. So it worked out for us.

We gave the king sized room on the main level to Clay’s mom and step-dad. I figured it would be easier for them to not have to climb the stairs all the time, plus that room also has a giant Jacuzzi tub so they could soak and relax. I didn’t get a chance to check it out but it looked wonderful!

Also on the main floor is a full bath, the kitchen, living and dining areas as well as a closed in deck with an 8 person hot tub and gas grill. There’s also a charcoal grill by the front deck if you prefer using charcoal over gas. This is the first cabin I’ve seen offer both types of grills. I thought that was pretty cool.

The kitchen was very well appointed. It has all the appliances you would need including a stove, refrigerator,  dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender and slow cooker. There were plenty of dishes and pots and pans. You are also supplied with a starter supply of paper towels, dish washing liquid and dishwasher detergent.

The bathrooms have rags and towels and a starter supply of toilet paper and hand soap. This unit does NOT have a washer and dryer. That is the only thing that I would suggest the owners add. A small apartment sized stacked washer and dryer would come in super handy for drying swim suits after a dip in the hot tub as well as being able to wash linens or clothing as needed. We typically prefer units that have a washer and dryer but since we needed a pet friendly unit that sleeps 8 people, Mulberry Place did the trick! Not having a washer and dryer was in no way a deal breaker for our stay. Our cabin certainly had everything else we needed and we just packed  few extra clothes. No big deal.

There is a wood burning fireplace in the living room that made cool nights so relaxing. We spent our days walking around Gatlinburg. After coming home and taking a soak in the hot tub it was super nice to be able to relax in front of a real fireplace and watch a little tv. The fire was relaxing and put me to sleep almost immediately each night. It was wonderful!

The porch is covered and screened in, which is very nice. Not only does it offer privacy, but it lets you enjoy the mountain air without the worry of bears and pests. The hot tub is on one end, there is a nice little gas grill, perfect for grilling up some steaks, in the middle and then there’s a table and chairs at the other end. The kids love soaking in the hot tub while Clay is grilling our meals and I loved being able to sit out there and talk to him while keeping a close eye on the kids. After supper, the adults took a dip in the hot tub for some much needed relaxation. Like I said, you can enjoy the great mountain air in the hot tub without worrying about the bears!

The front porch was also a relaxing place to spend some time. There was a swing and a couple of rocking chairs. It was nice to sit out there in the mornings with your coffee. This cabin is in a more wooded area in Sky Harbor. I loved sitting in the swing and watching the squirrels playing in the little side yard.

There is one cabin to the side of it, sharing the main driveway but there is plenty of privacy. From the back deck you don’t see the other cabin at all. We had neighbors a couple nights we were there but never heard them. Going alongside the two cabins leads you to a trail. I’m not sure if it is part of the Appalachian Trail but there is a surveying marker so I’m thinking it might be! Clay and I walked up through there and, once you get to the top, it has a gorgeous spring and fall view of the mountains!

I’ve also made a slideshow video for YouTube with even more photos including our Hollywood Wax Museum visit and photos from along the Gatlinburg strip!:

Even with no washer and dryer I can still honestly say that this was one of my favorite cabins. The downstairs is nearly identical to Winter Haven. It was homey and comfortable and fit our family perfectly. If we travel with our pup in the future Mulberry Place is definitely a cabin we’ll rent again.

Thanks Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals!
