UTI Emergency Kit: Don’t Let 1 Urinary Tract Infection Slow You Down

It never fails. You go to the beach, get in a swimming pool or relax in a hot tub and a day or so later you feel the tell-tale sting of a UTI. You don’t have to let it ruin the rest of your trip, though! If you get a urinary tract infection while you’re traveling, there is a UTI Emergency Kit that can help tide you over until you can get to a Dr. and help relieve the symptoms.

A few years ago, I told you about an amazing drink by uqora to flush your urinary tract and help prevent infections.

uqora Flush | Prevent Urinary Tract Infections

This drink is great for helping to prevent a UTI. But what if you already have one but can’t get to a Dr. or get a prescription right away. Well, lemme tell ya!

UTI Emergency Kit

They have a UTI Emergency Kit, for urinary tract infection that help you get by a couple days until then.

It does NOT replace going to the Dr. but it helps tide you over until you can because it has test strips to know if you have an infection, a pain reliever and infection control tablets that help inhibit the progression of infection. Keep in mind, they don’t cure it, but they slow it down. So, you still need to get to a Dr. as soon as you can. Don’t play around with UTI’s. You can go septic if left untreated.

With that said, this UTI Emergency Kit is a great way to still enjoy your plans without the pain and discomfort of a urinary tract infection.

The first thing you’ll do is test to see if you do, in fact, have a urinary tract infection, using one of the test strips in the kit. If the test is positive, then you’ll take the UTI Infection Control and Pain Relief. The test strips are easy to use. I like to use first morning urine, just like with any urine test. I collect it in a clean, dry, disposable cup like a bathroom cup. Then dip the end of the test strips in the urine. Next lay it on the wrapper, as indicated and wait the allotted time to read my results. There is a chart, pictured above, on the wrapper to compare the colors. Easy and done!

uqora UTI Emergency Kit | Infection Control

Uqora’s UTI Infection Control includes two active ingredients — sodium salicylate and methenamine. Methenamine is an antibacterial medicine that slows the growth of bacteria along the urinary tract, helping you to control the UTI. Sodium salicylate is a pain reliever, to help relieve general pain and discomfort. The Infection Control works by generating formaldehyde in the urine. The formaldehyde is toxic to the bacteria and slows their growth.

uqora UTI Emergency Kit | Pain Relief

Uqora’s UTI Pain Relief active ingredient, Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride, works by lining the mucosa of the urinary tract with a topical analgesic, which provides UTI pain relief. Keep in mind, it will turn your urine a bright yellow/orange. That is normal! If you’ve been treated for UTI before, you have probably experienced that from treatment then as well. The color in the tablets can stain skin and clothing so take it quickly and don’t chew or crush it.

uqora has an entire line of products for urinary care including:

  • Flush – flush your urinary tract
  • Defend – cleanse biofilm & support bladder wall integrity
  • Promote – probiotics to help maintain healthy vaginal bacteria daily
  • 🠩 Combinations of those like the Complete Regimen
  • Wipes
  • pH-Balanced Cleanser
  • UTI Emergency Kit

Because my daughters and I are highly susceptible to getting a UTI, we plan to keep a UTI Emergency Kit (or 2 or 3) in our travel toiletries at all times! Then, we don’t have to worry as much about getting a Urinary Tract Infection. Of course, the Complete Regimen would be greatly beneficial as well. Part of it contains potassium. I’m currently on prescription medications that make me limit my potassium intake some, so I will just keep the emergency kit on hand, for myself. Just to be on the safe side until I can ask my Dr. about taking it daily.

Either way, we’ll be prepared!
